  • @drabramow it is a good choice but its just like the macbook except thinner

  • im thinking about getting the macbook air 11 inch good choice?

  • Thanks for the vid, but I still can't decide. I like the aluminum look, and I want the SD card slot and the battery indicator light, but I still don't know because I'm only 12 and it's my first Mac (but not my first computer). What do you think? Oh, and price really isn't a problem.

  • @MissLauraC213 hey, yeah ,urm im not soldier but i still know some things, im 12 too ;D my first mac was the iMac27i5? but i recomend that you get the MacPro because tehn you have everything you need and more? not just what you need and then you want something else, so if you want my advice, go for the MacPro

  • what mac do you think would be good for gaming i mac or mac pro

  • @kallummckeetv mac pro running windows 7 boot camp

  • @kallummckeetv if you're looking into mainly gaming on a computer, purchase a AlienWare setup... they are the leading PC for gaming.

  • I bought a unibody white MacBook. It's real fast and stable and nice looking because it's white. If you want a 13 inch Mac I highly recommend a MacBook over the MacBook Pro 13' unless you are for sure you must have the aluminum. I ran Bootcamp with Windows 7 on my MacBook and there is NO lag, since April when I installed Windows 7 it hasn't frozen once. The graphics for games like Unreal Tournament 3 PWN the PC I used to use for gaming. All my editing and that is all on my MacBook.

  • @1fUWereMe if you are a gamer get a xbox360.. or ps3

  • The only thing that keeps me from buying Macbook, is the fact that it gets dirty. The truth is the Pro gets dirty too, but you don't see it and I don't want to clean my Mac every month or so...

  • @klarkolofsson Yeah , Me too. Good point :)

  • wen will they release a new one

  • just subbed =]]

  • @1fUWereMe Not true, Can a PC run any Game in the world, no. A Mac can, its an app called Wine that lets you run any windows program plus it can run Mac games.

  • This video needs to be updated

  • can you make a new video about this topic now that the Macbook recieved a huge update?

  • it's simple if you wanna make music, playing games, editing photo/video's get a Macbook Pro if you wanna messing around... en all that get a Macbook. :-)

  • can you play counter strike source on the mac book (from steam) ?????

  • ye i love that game you can play css on like any pc now days

  • yea

  • mac book pro will work but mac book it will lag!

  • dude i can play on it on my shitting 2002 computer half a gig of ram intel pentium 4 2ghz it should work seamlessly

  • 13"?

  • hey how do you make your intro video

like what application do you use

  • probably imovie or final cut express, but i really dont know

  • nice video, if i goot a mac laptop i would go with the macbook pro for sure

  • The 13in unibody MacBook is now a MacBook Pro

  • how much mp is the camera on a mac,, i have a aluminum mackbook so if anyone knows please tell me thank you

  • I think it`s a 2mp like the iPhones

  • 2.5 but high res

  • Hey, I just saw you first about a week ago and it seems like you really can put macs in a good light so that even PC users can appreciate them. Keep up the good work.

  • Wow! That was a really good breakdown video! I'm subbing, rating 5 stars and going to favour it. That really helped me decide which laptop to get, I was thinking of the MacBook but I needed a little bit more clarification to it, and you gave it to me! Great video! :P

  • i wanna win tooo

  • Appreciate these break-down videos, really helpful. :P

  • you released this video on my birthday

  • 3 days before mine

  • Haha! Cammie, you and I have the same birthday! April 15th ftw!

  • happy late birthday

  • i mean,if u want a laptop as a desktop replacemt id rather go for the macbook and invest the cash u save into a descent 20-24 inch screen

  • wtf yes it is

  • would it be cheaper to get a powerbook g4 and mac OS X?

  • is their a way to get a mac for cheaper

  • Google EPP Apple Store, there you can get a discount. I saved $160 on my Macbook Pro, and $90 on my Cinema Display

  • hey man i love ufc aswell lol also good video

  • Rumor or not, I'm just going to wait for the quad-core MBP.

  • he was, but settled with a Mac, cause he didn't want to learn.

    Took the easy way out

  • Oh. Thanks for the info. Now I can rub it in his face! LOL J.K.

  • It's easy (Mac) you can learn computers with little effort (Windows)

"Computers and the Internet For the Win"

  • so whats esier to handle? a apple or windows?

  • they are equally the same to handle, they both come on DVD

  • Can anyone help me? I'm looking in the market for either a macbook or a 15" macbook pro, but can't decide. I would do some photo editing, video editing, playing music, watching movies here and there, and maybe play a game here and there. Now I love the size of the original macbook, but hate how it doesn't have the dedicated video card. Out of both I would choose the 2.4ghz Proccessor, 128gb ssd, 4 gb ram. Is a 15" laptop hard to move around, I'd like to take it with me? Anyone help me decide?

  • okay, i assume you have the money for both. SO i would say the pro. the pro is SO much faster however the macbook is really fast too and the macbook pro has more space and bigger screen

  • For a start you probably wouldnt need the SSD. For what you want then hard drive speed probably wont make a difference. It will only make things loads faster, not just give a instant boots in performance. With the extra money you could get the Macbook pro...

  • Thanks so much! This vid helped so much!

Plan: Wait a while and save up for a MacBook Pro.

    And I subscribed :)

  • i chose a macbook. im a console gamer and it runs final cut pro fine and it's blazing fast

  • Can you make a video about Crysis, like pros and cons about the game? I'm thinking of buying it.

  • Just go out and buy it it's not that expensive - just make sure you have a good gfx card :D

  • I chose the 13" macbook.

Not all mac users play games (some of us have consoles or portables for that).

The 13" macbook is good for Final Cut express video editing. So if you are into YouTube videos and want it as portable as possible, the macbook is even more portable.

  • which is a better graphic card 256MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3650 or NVIDIA GeForce 9200 graphics card

    (256MB Dedicated) PLZ REPLY

  • Depends wether you want a AMD gfx card or a Nvidia one :D

  • lol Yeah I wanted the 15'' 2.66 GHz 4 GB model but I realized that after I ordered my current one.

  • lolz " graphics is " dosn't make sense

  • yeah he has a problem with both pronunciation and enunciation of all worlds in the English vocabulary.

  • It does make sense. It's a grammatical error, but you can understand him perfectly well.

  • i should recommend you the 15" 2.66 GHz model with 4 GB of ram i have it and i love it it oppens all my applications in about a minute and i have alot all the adobes all the microsoft and i should say its the best mac i had and i had all of them,...so yeah messege me if anything

  • I have a 15'' macbook pro 2.4 Ghz and I love it a lot!

  • i have a 17inch macbook pro. 2.93ghz and 8gb memory ddr3 1067mhz. lol

  • which 1 u gett'n? 15" or the 17"? i think the 15" model is best coz u get all the PRO features and u can take the battery out if u want :-)!

  • You forgot to mention:

The 17 inch has a Hi Res Screen which gives you the same screen real estate as the 24 inch iMac

    Has a Anti Glare Option

Non Removable Battery with 8hours of battery life.

Supports 8 Gigs of RAM opposed to 4GBs of the 15inch and the MB

Low end Macbook doesn't have a back lit keyboard

Apart from that, Great Vid! Keep them up.

  • Oh and the Aluminium MB doesn't have Fire Wire

  • not hating here but no1 is gonna use 8gb of ram. i have 4gb and it is so fast but no1 is gonna even need 8gb ram

    TREY 4 LIFE

  • Sure most consumers wont but some professionals need it. The people the 17 inch is marketed at. with its high screen gamut and resolution.

As the price of memory falls, you will see more and more people upgrading their machines.

There is a reason why it supports it.

  • yes ino but look at the price for 8gb ram on apple website

    TREY 4 LIFE

  • Much cheaper if you upgrade your self, which I bet 99% of people will do.

  • ino but thats apple for ya lol

    TREY 4 LIFE

  • Love you're videos bro!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks Solider, I think the macbook is the way to go for me.

  • hey man, thanks for helping me weighing up the arguments, like you said though, the money is the biggest factor, i guess its time for me to pull some double shifts! haha

  • There is no question between the two

    Macbook pro period

Macbook sucks. No firewire and i don't have to say anything else

  • lol yeah but not everyone cares about firewire, although I agree it is pretty weak that the macbook has none -_-

  • 'Eh, a FireWire does come in handy but it doesn't SUCK... I'm happy with mine :)

  • ive got the previous generation white macbook and it is just fine. i do quite a lot of video editing (final cut, after effects) and a macbook manages that good enough even tho its got poor graphics card. If i could afford i would get a pro but now im very happy with my macbook. cheers :)

  • yea UFC!!!!

    who u cheer for soldier???

  • PC OR MacBook, MacBook Pro

  • depends what you want. but i say if PC games are not that important to you, definitely go with MAC. But i think you should have a spare PC anyway, just for software purposes. hope this helps

  • Great video! Answered a lot of questions! Awesome comparison!

  • Not a tough decision - MacBook Pro hands down!

  • is it because it has the word pro in it?

jk i agree pro beats normal

  • Hahah! That was definitely a funny video. I still can't stop laughing right now. It's amazing what kind of videos you find on you tube....

  • you should also mention the absence of firewire port on a normal macbook..so if buyers out there are planning to use a mac to do video editing stuff, they should get either an imac, a pro mac or a macbook pro....owh yeah and mac mini has a firewire port too..but not the normal macbook...

  • Cool. Really helpful. Thanks. Can you do a video on the differences between the 2GHz MacBook Aluminum vs the 2.4GHz from a gaming perspective? And would adding RAM to the 2GHz edition help with gaming?

  • pro

  • Just bought the MacBook Pro - worth every penny!

  • MACBOOK PRO TOO HOT!!

Good video. I have the MacBook Pro Aluminum since last November, and lately my MacBook Pro crashes under Windows when I play games.

It gets REALLY HOT! And sometimes it turns itself of, cause its probably too hot.

If I would have it on my lap, I'd burn myself. Anyone else has that problem?

  • I have the same problem, The dam laptop gets way way way to hot, i would be telling the truth when i say i could get an egg to fry on there.

  • yeah, but mbp's are known for getting hot. Nothing ever happens to it, it just gets hot.

  • What about MacBook vs Netbook (Asus one or any other) ?

  • i got a unibody 15" macbook pro for christmas to replace a desktop and function as my portable computer. my heart was put in a blender when the unibody 17" came out. i NEED the bigger screen, faster hardware, and better speakers :'(

  • Great video!

Please turn up the volum, kinda edited really low....sometimes I watch your vids on my iPhone 3.0

    Thanks!

  • u guys are retarded 9600 gt ... is not even a good video card i mean i have a macbook pro and its good on gaming and editing stuff but the difference between an 9600 and a 9400 is not that much ..

  • He is such a cool guy! He is like the ONLY YouTuber that has great videos and gives out prizes! He's a classic guy.

    Good job SoldierKnowsBest!

  • Not to mention everything he says is true - and he doesn't go over the top and exaggerate! =D

  • You're awesome

  • I'm a 3D Artist, so the Macbook Pro with the Dedicated GPU and 17" screen is a no brainer. But for someone like my sister who plays net games and watches lots of movies the white macbook she has is absolutely perfect!

  • you forgot about the firewire port that is only on macbook pro and not on the macbook!!!

  • thank you you helped me on my desion

  • Nice UFC T-shirt

  • I'm only 16 and I hope someday soon I can be able to buy a macbook pro.

  • SHUT UP MAN! WHO ASKED YOU! HE ROCKS! YOU WOULDN'T SAY THAT TO HIS FACE NOW WOULD YOU! Don't let STUPID haters get you down soilder. great videos!

  • LOL

fist of all I'm not talking to soldierknowsbest.

soldierknowsbest rocks he is, I'm one of his fans.

that comment is a reply to the guy that starts talking trash to me.

    get it?

  • Comment removed

  • Me too!

My brother has a regular Macbook and an iMac desktop.

    I envy him so much.

I'm saving my money up now, but they're so much it's taking me awhile.

But in the end, it will be all worth it.

  • I have the latest normal Macbook 2GB 2GHz it works great.

  • same! i love it

  • your so friendly. great video

  • I have a MacBook Pro thanks to work. It's a good machine, though it's the previous generation one. Personally I'd prefer the MacBook, though. The Pro is great but if you are going to be lugging the thing around constantly, the Pro can get to be a bit of a pain.

  • "If you like to game buy a MacBook Pro"

Mac are good but they are not designed for gaming

  • there is some good games on mac, like cod4, but you can also install windows via bootcamp, soooooo

  • thats why i love mac os x

  • i bought a macbook and i love it,, i am going mac, i dont use my pc anymore.

  • Thank good I choose the MacBook! The MacBook Pro is awesome and all but I just didn't need all that power because i already have a Mac Pro.

Thank you SoldierKnowsBest! if someone would have put a vid like this when i was getting my Mac I probably would have been a lot better about my Mac choice

  • Pc or Macbook?

  • Mac :)

  • i got my mac book pro i love it with life. go apple. it is the BEST way to go. =] soldierknowsbest, your right.

  • I LOVE My New MacBook Pro

    thanks for the vid man

  • does the macbook have firewire?

  • I Believe so.. Suburbian Knights

  • no.

  • the macbook pro does though.

But if you really want a macbook, i believe there are firewire connectors through usb so no worry there.

  • PC!!!!!

  • UFC this Saturday!!!

  • It is definately worth it to be patient and wait until you have enough money to buy a MacBook Pro. If you are really patient, wait until Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is released.

  • Do you think it's worth it to go for the higher end macbook because it has the light up keyboard or should I just go for the macbook pro? I want that light up keyboard option, but I don't really need that extra stuff that comes with the higher end macbook as opposed to the lowest priced macbook. The only thing holding me back from a macbook pro is the fact that I want a smaller laptop that's easy to carry around.

  • i've had three mbps, and i now have the uni body mbp. and on all of them, i've never really used the back lit keyboard, if you can type without looking at the keys you'll be fine. its an extra that isn't worth $300 more if you don't need the other specs and you're only buying it for the keyboard.

  • MBP has firewire :)

  • seriously, do you really ever use firewire. lol, i said that when i got my mbp, and i wanted to use my external HD, then i realized it was an older model and that it was only a firewire 400, i was so pissed. lol. but other than that occasion i never use firewire.

  • yeah, i use it everyday for my HD camera. and there are firewire 800 to 400 adapters for about $10

  • do they make firewire 400 to 800? i knew about the 800-400, but i didn't really think about searching for an adapter. i just spent the extra cash figuring i'd probably need another 320 gigs sooner or later.

  • mac book pro totally kills it and it's so amazing at handleing things the only down side is battery life for my macbook pro.

  • how hot does ur pro get when u game...mine gets hott!

  • ya mine gets pretty hot....fan noise bugs me, temperature i dont really care about

  • my fan doesnt get too loud the temp though is pretty hot.. im playing wow which i though would be very unintesive for the machine.

  • macbook pro

  • no firewire on regular macbook D:

  • looks like soldier dosnt know best. soldier is just a mac fanboy. watch the windows adverts, buy a pc. dont have an issue with apple, i have an iPhone, i have an issue with fanboys.

  • I believe, generally, for the average person. Mac is better for personal reasons, and Windows is better for work oriented computing. What are your thoughts?

  • well Macs are very nicly built computers- but thats all. The specs can be easily outweighed on a PC for the same price, and either can run either operating system. Windows does have more usability. You can do a lot more with a windows machine than a mac one, such as gaming.

  • I heard from a good computer source that yes, on paper Windows machines have better specs, but they don't use them as well as Macs. Macs are better at managing the RAM and they use less power over all to run their OS. I think this is why they are used for cartoon movies and studios. The reason they don't use them for gaming is that the Mac market is so small that it makes sense to make games for Windows because your appealing to such a big audience.

  • im waiting for sims3 (MAC) to come out this year... do u think i could play it on my normal macbook???

i dont rly play games... but i love sims and i rly hope it'll work on smoothly on my macbook

  • Great info, just wish i didn't have to be patient lol

  • same here. i only have enough for the regular macbook :(

  • macbook pro is the right answer

  • Macbook Pro. Although, the Macbook would be fine for just mobile internet users who want to check there facebook or myspace. Desktop replacement, get a Macbook Pro, you probably want that dedicated graphics card if your replacing a desktop.

  • Macbook pro pwns macbook!!!!!!!! :D

  • Great vid, i would watch ur live shows ut i hate ustream

    it runs terribley

  • useless video

  • One more big difference..macbook...no firewire...macbook pro..firewire 800..besides that..good vid!

  • Great Video !! The only computer i plan on getting would be a Mac any Pc i own now is the only Pc that will stay haha but im all for Mac but i use the windows os too

  • you should get the macbook pro !

  • what games

  • Awesome vid man-BTW Another big difference is MBP has firewire-

  • I think the Macbooks are the best designed laptops on the market. That being said, I am not going to pay about $700-$1000 for an OS. You can buy a similar laptop with the same specs for a lot less. I really would like a Macbook Pro, but don't really want to pay $2700 when I will probably use Vista the most on it anyway.

  • yes.. i thought bout that wen i first wanted to buy a new laptop.. i didnt have that kind of money at the time to buy a macbook but after waiting a year of just saving money and doing side jobs i was able to buy the new 17 inch macbook pro.. and i tell you it was worth the while and every penny!

  • But see...I can just save my money and but a $1500 beast of a laptop instead of buying an ok laptop for $2700. See what I'm saying...

  • yeah i know specially with the economy.. but im just saying its a great machine..

  • You CA
