  • Vengerov: "Check out my amazing fast fingers!"

The other guy: "Pshh, i can do that on the bass"

  • That Bass player is so intense!!! O.o

  • what's with the weird bow hold at 00:43? bassists...

  • @abbyskarbowski That's a German bow hold and it was popularized by Franz Simandl in the nineteenth century. Go read a little bit..

  • @TheScrewyouth sorry, didn't mean it like it came out i guess. i just didn't know that was a fairly normal way to hold the bow. the jab at bassists was supposed to be joking but i guess it doesn't really look like it. :P

  • @TheScrewyouth It's technically a Vienna bow hold on a German bow.

  • total shame !!! I recomende listen to true music - mc coy tyner coltrane - this jewish stuff is so primityw - suitable for restaurant and druk people - zero spirytuatility -

  • @lokanta100 Yo tri lernin ow 2 spel ll!! ( This is sarcasm, yes?) What a TiT.

  • Mr. Vengarov is a genius man. YOU CANNOT DISLIKE HIS MUSIC. THUMBS UPIF YOU AGREE!!!

  • Thirty-four people play the viola.

  • @Tfrne lol, 36

  • @Tfrne Hahah, too funny! Worst part in the history of viola parts- I was so ticked when my ensemble did this back in high school.

  • @Tfrne Hahaha.. so true.. but.. I've played this in my Viola a lot of times D:

  • @Tfrne viola is an awesome instrument.

  • Those harmonics area amazing!!!!!

  • "WTF HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!?!?!?!??!?!" Is what said when heard the bass at 3:20

  • The harmonics on this are out of this world!

  • i now wish i played the double bass and cello as well as already playing the violin XD

  • i love maxims faces :D

  • :Ο Perfect contrabass!!!!

  • @kolopaper123 isnt it called double bass?? are you confusing it with its name in spanish?? "contrabajo" :P

  • Wow! amazing bass player!!! (and of course the violinist!)

  • これは・・・すごい!!!

  • Phenomenal.

  • bravo super.....

  • @ikuehne hahaha wow thats so awkward, i thought the double basses were cellos....but you get what i mean.

  • he is an amazing violinist, and i would give so much to play this piece like him (im learning it).....but that smug looks on his face when the cellist is playing makes me want to punch his lights out -_-

  • @samueltennis there are no cellists there...

  • Bravo! Great performance \º/ Vittorio Monti is very happy by this, certainly

  • were is this concert?

  • @GeeTheStyxCrosser I just performed this not long ago... =( Wish I can play is free, fast, enjoyable, and bright like this... But yeah, isn't it normal for some to actually smile, or laugh when something amazing happens? =D

  • Never heard bass playing like it! Really absolutly unbelievable!!

  • I found myself clapping in my hands at the end of the performance.

    If that isn't AMAZING!

  • The Conductor turn aroud then laught and said wtf they play amazing.

  • It's not a smile of making fun of. That Conducters smile is a smile that's saying "...Wow...". Heck I'm smiling with both awe and AMAZEMENT from this performance! :o Never in my life of music have I seen a doublebass that fast and agile...

  • this is amazing, but can someone explain to me why the conductor is away and snickering while these two guys are performing? Someone fill me in.

  • @mustardgas2

he's not snickering he's laughing because the level of skill and technique is just mindblowing

  • @mustardgas2 Usually, small groups of chamber music don´t need conductor. Surely he's waiting to continue with the complete orchestra. I'm a musician too. Regards!

  • Umwerfend, davon hätte ich gern mehr. Das ist musizieren auf höchstem Niveau mit großem Spaß!

Outstanding, play some more!!! They make music on a high level with lot of fun!!!

  • Umwerfend, davon hätte ich gern mehr. Das ist musizieren auf höchstem Niveau mit großem Spaß!

Outstanding, play some more!!! They makes music on a high level and with lot of fun!!!

  • that is crazy... definitively wonderful

  • patkolo! great!!!

  • Am trying to decide why Vengerov's sound is so much richer and more beautiful than that of Katica Illenyi playing this same music on youtube. Her playing seems equally skilled and has as much feeling, but the actual sound lacks the fullness and richness of Vengerov's. My theory is that his violin is a superior instrument. Are there any violinists out there with thoughts on this?

  • without words

  • i couldn't help but smile throughout the whole thing

  • good good good good good good good good good

  • Bravo!!! Emoke.

  • good good good goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood goodgood good

  • easily one of the best bass players. not your typical soloist instrument.

  • Beautiful!

  • I love how happy they both are. It's as if they didn't have a care in the world. As if they were playing in a small room with just the four of them rather than in front of a large live audience. Words can't describe their performance. Hopefully one day I'll be half as good at the piano as these guys are at their respective instruments.

  • Hoooolyyyyy Ssshit. Give this man a medal, or barring that a fucking TV show. If I got super rich and died, I would want Maxim and the other guys to play Mozart's Requiem at my funeral. If that happened, I would come back to life just to cry at my own funeral, and my family would look over and say, "Holy shit, is that Tim?"

...And past there it would just be awkward...

  • Bassist- Holy...shit...

  • The more I listen to and look at this performance, the more it fascinates and moves me. Thanks for posting it.

  • as a violinist i'm impressed by the violin but the bassist?! wow...i honestly didn't think that was possible to play that high xD

  • I don't hear music but... emotions

  • Como Venguerov no lo hay.... sencillamente no lo hay!

  • My skills are embarrassing...

  • The only thing I can say right now is that I am speechless at this performance.

  • Alejandro, Alejandro Ale aleJandro

  • MAESTROS TODOS, HACEN VIBRAR LAS FIBRAS MUSICALES QUE LLEVAMOS Y QUE NOS HACE RECONOCER LA MÚSICA COMO EL LENGUAJE UNIVERSAL, BENDICIONES DESDE MÉXICO PARA TODOS ELLOS°

  • 2:12 kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • Perman>Vingerov

  • Ita a tie between 2 great musicians

  • bassiona aromosa seems to be the name of ensemble playing with maxim vengerov, not just that leftmost bassist...

  • I love how the conductor laughs; it's just that outrageous

  • @heyiliketurtles minutes 2:31

  • Who won? lol They BOTH did! lol

  • LOVE it!

  • 2:24 NOO WAYYY!!!

    :O

  • Who needs violinists when you have a bassist that can do that?

  • The man's name is "Bass"iona. That settles it, he was BORN to play the bass! THIS is indeed his one true purpose in life. lol Well done, WELL DONE!

  • Wow

  • "Maxim Vengerov and Bassiona Amorosa" are like the best names ever!

  • @yingtone NO!! SARAH CHANG AND GIL SHAHAM IS THE BEST!!!

  • @yingtone

bassiona amorosa is the name of the bass ensemble. the bassist's name is roman patkolo.

  • os que não gostaram com certeza são funkeiros

  • @soyelreferi99

It's called not being a machine.

  • Any1 here know exactly how hard it is to play that piece in a instrument so low only harmonics can achieve that?

  • The guy behind, probably the conductor, is so friggin amazed... just look at his face

  • i love this performancee!!! was so beautifull and the same time so funny, :D

  • The violin player looks douchey. Probably because I play bass and he's gettin all personal.

  • break

  • as a bass player..i have a new goal in life! o_o

  • aaahhhh!my senior wants me to play this piece b4 i graduate.people say nothing impossible ,they are just talking big but try asking them to play it,u think they can? no! this piece,i bet it takes a lifetime for a violinist or double bassist to be pro so that they can play this piece! can anyone tell me what grade is this song?

  • @gloryfang Grade 8 if you're talking about Violin. I'm not too sure what it is for Bass. Sorry.

  • Sliczne, dzieki.Pozdrawiam!

  • that bass solo was FANTASTIC

  • these guys are the shit.

  • That violinist should practise more often with a metronome. OMG !

  • @soyelreferi99

"That guy" as you say is the highest paid violinist in the world. I doubt he needs your advices.

  • 3:51 the bass has an error imho

  • Bassiona Amoroza: legend

  • Alejandro!!!!!

  • Omg That is so awesome best i've heard by far!!!!!!! How on earth do you play like that??? I'm learnning it now but i don't even sound half as good as that.

  • Definitely one of te best versions of czardas I have seen

  • Bravo Meastro!!!

  • im speechless. Tears and smiles.

  • прекрасно!!

  • This is why double bass wins.

  • wow.... this was awesome... i clapped my hands in front of the screen

what a performance, definitely one of the best i've heard so far...

    and kind of unique interpretation

  • who is that bassist, is the besT!

  • That bass player is beast-ass-beast!

  • I logged in just to say that he is the new paganini

  • It's a perfect match with three basses and a violin, what a great sound.

  • 2:36 : It's like they're having a instrument battle.

  • @Deathzwei Yes, the piece was actually meant for that kind of feel, Monti intended for it to be a very funny, show-offy piece.

  • God... This is so beautiful.

  • lets admit man. Venegerov didnt perform best here. He deserves some dislikes. He nearly shattered all my expectations of him as a virtuoso. Other "less-famous" violinists such as Lendvay, the 100 gypsy orch, and the korean (dont know his name, but surf the web with asian guy, around 770,000 views) had much more profound interpretation, tone quality, and overall charisma. Plus, Venegerov missed some rhytms then and there...

  • @royboylee missing rhythms = interpretation using synopation = part of being virtuoso

  • @royboylee missing rhythms = interpretation using synopation = part of being virtuoso. just think of it from another point of view, as it may not sound correct to you, but to him it may have sounded the correct thing to do at the time

  • Brilliant

  • that bass just shat all over that violin.

  • gotta love that face at 2:34

  • how can you dislike?

    what country are they in?

and how the heck does that bass... it's like they fastforwarded it

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • ... that's possible?

  • WoW! O_0 Both Bassist and violinist are virtuoso!!!!

  • LOL it's like someone fastforwarded it.

I wish i could play like that

  • 26 people are ashamed that the bassist plays this song better than them lol.

  • ESE WEY ES LA VERDURA JAJJAA

  • Victor Hugo said: "Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent". Maxim Vengerov's playing takes this saying to another level.

  • how the hell do they vibrato on the harmonics

  • @deathendz LOL I know right

  • The bassist made Maxim Vengerov look bad

  • my mind was just blown

  • 2:32-2:33 Best part ever

  • Maxim's face at 2:00 is a pure expression of "Holy shit..."
