i've written this before and don't have enough space to write everything i could, but i wish everyone today could know people from this generation. i'm glad i did. the world, or at least the us, doesn't make people like this anymore. for the most part they were strong, responsible and found their way through life without an absurd sense of entitlement. they were nothing like the whiners that inhabit this country now. i could write a book of my own...
The same kind of things that we are thinking right now. I don't think human nature changes very much. I love this book and the documentary is just wonderful.

It is a haunting book.... get a copy. Definitely gives you a different take on the pioneer experience in the American Midwest.
