To everyone making GLEE comparisons. These shows are nothing alike. I Do like both shows, but unlike Glee, at least they don't randomly burst into song and dance, with everyone knowing all the lyrics, moves, and when their cue is to join in. Smash is about the Theatre! and it is fabulous.

@llll148 You really need to give this show a chance and watch it. It´s phenomenal. The storyline and plot is compelling. The Marylin Monroe takes a back seat. I strongly recommend it. Plus JAck Davenport is fantastic. His chemistry with Kat Mcphee is off the charts!

It shows a great message and yeah it has gone downhill but who cares? Its still a great show. We can say something about it because everyone has a right to speak his or her mind. You may not like old music, but some of us do, for some of us, it's very important and it's just a huge let down for us oldies fans when we see the raw spirit of those songs get auto-tuned into a cheesy package. And what's worse is that people who haven't heard those songs before glee end up enjoying the cheesy package better than the original. There's other things I could complain about, but I will hold back.

Whereas Glee is geared towards teenagers and a certain type of young gay men, Smash seems to be aiming for the type of musical that attracts Broadway tourists - single straight women, older gay guys who actually care about talent and not just what is cutting edge, and straight guys who like music with a pretty feminine face.
