@bryngOneOn - think during this period in time we've got an official medical study out that alcoholism was indeed a genetic predisposition for individuals whose bodies are more tolerant of acohol and thus needs to consume more to get a proper kick. However it was wrong to correlate this as a 'blue-eyed problem - guess songwriter is exercising some creative license here... Lovelysong tho, don;t you agree?

@tzeqin i think maybe english isnt your first language as it's a saying to say someone is his blue eyed boy or anything in that area means that it is a child who can do no wrong in his father's eyes it has nothing to do with the actual colour of someone's eyes
