James Harris, who will become his producer until Dr. Strangelove, tell Kubrick when he watched Killer's Kiss that he could become one of the greatest director in the world.
That voice over...obviously it's meant to be the main actor...but it sounds a little like Kubrick...I keep wondering if he used his own voice to record those lines and dub them in. It would've been a cheap way to get it done. The thought of Kubrick actually acting in his film, even if it was a voice over...really seems exciting. Probably just wishful thinking on my part...
in the scene when the bad guy is killed and it cuts to this mannequin face as a scream is heard, does anyone think that's similar to the scene in ACO when Alex murders that cat lady and it cuts to a face on one of her paintings?
Inventive, original and atmospheric directorial work is unfortunately not enough to compensate for dull characters, wooden performances and an overall lackluster, uninvolving story. I'm a huge Stanley Kubrick fan but this and "Fear And Desire" are his only bad movies (still need to see "The Killing", "Lolita" and "Day Of The Fight")
short and sweet, thought the fight lasted a bit long but had i expected it to be the climax i wouldnt have. so used to films being 2 to 3 hours long

@Totalpranny - True that, but cut the nervy Bronx kid some slack. I'm sure this will lead to better things for the young pup!

So early on and already against the grain. Noirs don't have happy endings, only in a Kubrick film!
