@cytheria I totally agree with u, that's exactly what I think....K-pop is catchy and it gives u a totally different feeling about pop music, but there are merely true talented singers in the industry, that's why I like to call most of the members of girl and boy bands "entertainers" rather than singers. But I don't deny that there are amazing singers as well, just a few, but If had to choose I would pick talent rather than looks....
@floxsakura I agree with that. Most k-pop groups are considered idols rather than artists because they are trained to entertain and focus on fame rather than what they (should) represent. That's why I prefer a group like 2NE1 who spends less time on talk shows & focuses more on improving themselves as leaders who inspire & encourage. Talents like Ailee, 2NE1, & other passionate individuals in the music/entertainment industry will eventually shine more than trained idol dolls.

Even though Tara is one of my favorite girl groups, I don't get why their song, 'Cry Cry' and 'Roly Poly' got SOOOO popular. I mean, yeah I like them, but there were other songs that I personally think were better than Tara's songs.

@KanameKashita I'm sure Ailee worked just as hard as the other trainees if not harder. The Trainees in T-ara's company are pretty but come on their "dancing" is doing the body wave and learning simple choreography. They would not make it outside of Korea with the "talent" they have (not that they are trying to) but Ailee's voice alone would get her recognized, not just her looks.

@DB2SK You know i'm a fan of both KPop and of course western pop, but I think you are right in that the Korean companies need to start either find more confident and mature sounding singers and move slowly away from the sort of bubble gum cutesy stuff. Ailee just looks like a star. She has this effervescent presence about her that's so alluring. Then she sings, and everyone and everything just fades out. Absolutely beautiful vocally and outwardly. She is a star.

@RUNNINmystery I feel like Kpop has PLENTY of amazing singers. More than Jpop or Cpop. The only problem is their image or the type of music they sing. For example, Hyorin is an incredible singer but let's face it, SISTAR is kind of umm... let's just say they dance and dress in a certain way that it's distracting. Also, Minzy is probably the best singer in 2NE1 but Bom overshadows her. 7 out of 9 members of SNSD sings amazingly but their music genre don't let their voice shine etc.

@OpahGenit Wheesung is actually an amazing singer, it's just that his English isn't the best. Ailee grew up in the US so she's comfortable with english, I think that's why they chose an english song. This show was to show off the trainee's talents not the existing celebrity.

@MarkVizcarra Did i say she didn't work her ass off? why do u like putting words in my mouth? i try to make my all my comments least offensive to ppl but ppl always mistunderstood me...i was saying we should give other ppl credit, ailee was lucky enough to be where she is today so we praise her for working hard but what about the ppl in this that worked harder and longer than ailee and didnt make it? we should give them credit for trying not take away credit from ailee -.-

The girl who sang the duet with Ailee totally owned herself!!!!! Her voice is way too husky and she looks too old!!!!! Although husky voices are nice, but hers is wayyyyy over!!!!! It sounded like an old woman trying to sing and kept going out of breathe!!!!! Ailee way to go!!!!!

Ailee just looks like a star. She has this effervescent presence about her that's so alluring. Then she sings, and everyone and everything just fades out. Absolutely beautiful vocally and outwardly. She is a star.

@RUNNINmystery I feel like Kpop has PLENTY of amazing singers. More than Jpop or Cpop. The only problem is their image or the type of music they sing. For example, Hyorin is an incredible singer but let's face it, SISTAR is kind of umm... let's just say they dance and dress in a certain way that it's distracting. Also, Minzy is probably the best singer in 2NE1 but Bom overshadows her. 7 out of 9 members of SNSD sings amazingly but their music genre don't let their voice shine etc.

@alterna that's true. it's nice to have fun songs once in a while, but too much jst limits their potential. they become 'out of practice', too much schedules and therefore dont try as hard anymore, saddening. i love minzy's singing ^^ <3

@OpahGenit Wheesung is actually an amazing singer, it's just that his English isn't the best. Ailee grew up in the US so she's comfortable with english, I think that's why they chose an english song. This show was to show off the trainee's talents not the existing celebrity.
