Sound a good idea but it's much cheaper and quicker to just chop your guards a lil bit...
Why the hell would you lift your truck without replacing the suspension and then stick huge 35in + tyres on it!? Your going to destory your suspension by over extending the stock components and then fitting larger than factory tyres will not only void your warrenty but WILL blow up your diffs if you don't fit reduction gears.
2in lift, 31in tyres and turn the T bars twice - all you need
Why would new keys be any better than cranking up the stock keys? Its all about twisting the bar more. Same amount of twist but using more bolt to get there. Is it a big deal how much bolt is used. If it is why would they give you that long of a bolt? Also it doesnt add movement it only changes the start point.
they need to come out with a ready lift for a 2000 frontier crew cab 4x4. i want to get my truck leveled but im not to certain on just cranking torsion bars.
WRONG WRONG WRONG. he says the angle of the new keys allow higher clearance without additional preload?? moron. the begining angle is higher so the preload is already greater then at stock without touching the adjuster bolts for the height, so with the new angles, the stress on the bars is already higher! jeez.. this isnt educational im listening to a narrator take a sh** torsion keys are a joke. if you cant afford a full suspension kit, then wait until you can
wow so the ride is smooth so what about the U-joints. does the kit come with a life time supply of U -joints cause thats one thing they didnt tell you is that it puts stress on your u joints makes them go bad faster.
leveling kits are like color matched door handles or tint or roll pans. It's one of those super subtle mods that make you ask yourself, "damn, why does that car look so good?"
ok i got a ready lift leveling kit for my 05 silverado when i went to disconnect the upper ball joint from the spindle its wouldnt budge not even with a hammer so i had to use a pickle fork which inturn ripped the joints boot.... now i have to replace that to same with the foward tie rod ball joints... idk if it was because they have never been touched in five years or wht ...
@StewartLucrative well the joints have been there since the truck was built i had to use a pickle fork to disconnect the upper ball joints. there wasnt any rust at all lol. It wasnt a real big deal since new uppers cost about 25.00 each. it just added about an hours worth of work.
I put these on my 06 Silverado 4x4. Then my driver side cv axle kept going bad (3 times 8 months)and my power steering was noisy as hell. So I took them off and regret wasting my money. They make your truck look good, but they did damage my front end parts. Maybe other trucks handle them better.
@jeepcj7dude people that buy these lifts need to realise this. thanks 4 posting it and hopefully people will realise this. my friend 96 chev 1500 put in the 2 inch wit blocks and wreck his front end from cv shafts and all the joints. what ever you do dont crank the torsion bar with aftermafket keys. please save your truck
just purchased a 2.5" leveling kit and 3" rear block kit for my 05 Chevy Sliverado 4x4, and it's on it's way here. Hopefully it looks and works awesome on my truck!
How big of tires could i go on a 2002 chevy 2500 with the ready lift, like the one in the video? I was thinking of putting bigger tires but am not sure how high to go with the ready lift?
the fenders on gm's silverados like this one have a curved bottom so it makes the tires rub. ford trucks dont so you can fit larger tires on them and wont rub.
i agree with all you guys unleveled trucks dont look right.
I have the ready lift leveling kit on my 04 HD ext cab (looks exactly like the truck in ready lift video) I am running 285/70/17 tires on 17x8 moto wheels with negative 6 offset the driver side tire does rub at full turn but thats only because that side sits a 1/4 inch lower than the right side WTF I am taking it back to where i got the lift installed and hoping i dont need a new torsion bar i do have a cheesy tire shot video im going to post soon
Umm yes. It's kind of common sense. It "LIFTS" the front end about 2 inches depending on how far you turn it up. It makes it look better and you can put a little bigger tire :) yeah thAt's right you just got told by a 15 year old
It will lift the truck...but it's a minimal and mostly unnoticable amount...but if you put bigger tires, thats when the lift becomes apparent...otherwise it makes the truck sit level and ride slightly more stiff...but anymore than 2 inches is not recommended...rotating tires helps out greatly increasing treadlife...look into nitrogen as well...many benefits
Forgot to mention my truck is a 2004 Silverado...Also, I've not experienced any excessive wear and tear on the suspension and drivetrain...NONE...I run 33" MT/R's and have had perfect wear across the tread surface, plus I run nitrogen and rotate every 7000 miles...this does lengthen treadlife...
I can attest that you need to have an alignment done after installing these...I did these and you can see the wheels lean out at the top from the front of the truck...and trust me...these are not as easy to remove as they make it appear...plus you need a J tool and at least a jackstand and floor jack, and rachet...I went 2 inches over..and it did stiffen my ride...but it made the truck handle much better too
im going to level my 1997 chev 1500 short bed, reg cab.....your right though...it doesn't look as good when its unleveled...on my truck, when you look at it from the rear...its looks really goofy
@ABCMAN94 trucks are supposed to be raked forward. u have the rear higher for when u got stuff in the bed or when ur towing so ur not lookin at the sky! plus as trucks age they self lever anyway, the leaves sag in the rear. Just look at any 4x4 gmt400 suburban or tahoe. They become oppositely raked. Now on the flip side, too much rake looks bad too. Example of this would be gmt800 4x4 tahoes. Save for a real lift kit, fuck this petty torsion tugging
@APontiacof455cubes I do have a real lift kit. I spent $4,500 on lift, tires, and rims back in the spring. And I have an add-a-leaf so the rear won't sag as much when i tow/haul stuff. Also my truck sits level and I just have the stock TB keys cranked.
@wesley5159214 Let me geuss what your video is about do you crank the tosion bars?? LMAO I cant tell you how many times i have seen dumbasses break cv axles and fuck up there steering columns a common GM problem already. your free 2in lift just cost $1000+ in parts and labor. These keys really do make a difference 2in is easy and can be done on factory torsion bar preload just my 2 cents though.
it depends what type of truck is it? if its similar to the truck in the video then yes you can still put a lift kit on the truck and run these torsion keys
Cranking the torsion keys adds pre-load to the torsion bars, harsher ride, degraded handling. Torsion keys allows for raising the front without added stress to the torsion bars.
It shouldn't affect tire wear because you are only changing the height of where the wheel assembly and A-Arms ride and not the spring rate BUT, you are changing the pinion angle of the CV-shafts in an Independent Front Suspension (IFS) system. Drop brackets for the front differentials will bring the angles back into alignment. Many companies have bolt in's for this. They can also be easliy fabricated if you have the skills. And any time you change any suspension, get the wheels re-aligned.
On further thought, if you have a single A-arm type suspension, yes it can affect tire wear. By lowering a single A-Arm like on my old 94 S-10 the Camber of the tire will be affected causing greater wear on the outer portion. My 08 Silverado has an upper and lower A-Arm or control arm with the steering knuckle connected at the top and bottom so the wheel is able to travel vertically without nearly as much camber rotation.
I always wondered if it was diffrent on the newer trucks. On the S-10's like you said anything pass about 1.5 inch, cranking the stock keys or aftermarket keys caused the front ends to wear out faster.
it does have to be realigned, so stop running your mouth about something you have no clue about...If you crank on those torsion keys...you essentially tip out the top of the tire towards the curb...so yes...to get the most out of your tires...an alignment is a smart move, since most people drive their trucks daily
Umm. Yea i know they have to be re-alligned. That's what i said. I replied to that guys comment where he asked if it would increase tread wear or whatever he asked. And that's why your other comment you posted as a reply to me got removed by the author! Haha.
@fyrdawg589 no no no. your all wrong do reasearch, the added angles on new keys must match the angle of the old ones when installed, but the bars are turned a little more thus allowing the extra inch compared to cranking bars, once the new keys are on you crank them all the way to get 3 inches and you have yourself an over cranked torsion bar jeeez.. 2 inches is pushing it but 3 inches is dangerous. new keys allow more preload to keep the front end higher then stock keys via more adjusting room
yeah thats the CHEAP way to level your truck!! if you only use keys and shock extenders it will KILL your upper ball joints, put more stress on your tie rod ends and increase they wear on the cv joints! DO SOME REAL RESEARCH !!!!! your better off going with a 4' lift, it lowers the front diff and puts everything back into alignment and looks WAY BETTER!!!
what's this 4' lift you speak of? If you mean 4" lift and you know a good company that makes one that's compatitible with a 4x4 crew cab titan, I'd like to know where to get one and how much?
park on a level area and measure from the center of each wheel the the bottom of the fender, do that on front and back and the differance between them is what your lift should be, just about any kit is a good kit, on your F250 it should have a solid axle, not sure if it has coils or leafs though! if its coil then you'l spend like 100 bucks for spacers, if its leafs you'll need to get new springs!
I have a 99 F-250 V10 with a full metal bumper on the front and I really need a front end leveling kit. I have a flatbed on it and you can easily tell it slopes to the front.. My problem is I need to figure out where to measure so I will know how much of a front end lift to put on it. and also I need some recommendations on what to get because i dont know any good brands or what exactly to get. Thank you.
does anyone know if the performace acesorries leveling kit good for a titan i just want it for the look it says it would give you 5.5 inch lift so you can put 32 inch wheels on it does anyone have any recomedations for a good looking lift kit or leveling kit also i dont want to spend over 2500 to get it installed the site is Performance Accessories - Body Lifts, Premium Lift Systems, Gap Guards, Shackle Sets, Body Bushings, Skid Plates
you can fit 32" tires stk bro. worst case scenario throw a leveling kit into it. Your stock tires are over 31" tall. leveling kit shouldnt cost more than 450$ taxes in with a wheel alignment! you can fit 33's no problem with no rubbing!
i got an 03 chevy 2500HD with a little modding i can fit 35in tires still havn't rubbed yet. but stll getting the leveling kit to make it stand better

no matter what u do with a chevy or gmc product ur not gunna get it to work properly...thats why their shitty...shitty made and shitty products...they fuckin suck...i owned a gmc 1500 and a chevy silverado and they both gave me shit...their made outa shit....go ford...its the way to go...i learned my lesson the hard way...i havent had a problem at all with it and i have close to 45,000 miles on it
thats not long enough to say youve had 45k wait till it hit 125k then that piece of shit ford will just friggin fall apart I own a 1991 chevy 1500 with a 350 small block and it has 135k I bout in 95 with 20k and have had no problems at all and my freand owns a 1998 sierra with a 305 and it has 230k and no problems gms are the best
with leveling kits though have to remember to keep stock offset, if you stick em out a bit you are more prone to rubbing, i have 6" fabtech lift, and 2" fabtech leveling kit on my F-150, and I my tires stick out 2" and I rub when hittin medium grade bumps while turning even with the 8" lift
drive a 2004 gmc Z71 crew cab and I have a leveling kit on it. i have aftermarket wheels (they're pro comp) and their 17"x9" and they have more offset than than the stock rims. I'm running 33" tires and i don't encounter any rubbing at all. Although my front bumper had the inner edge trimmed so it would be rounded off
They wouldn't have come close to scrubbing before the trimming. Tire size makes a big difference mine are 305/65/17's
Just ordered keys for my 06 Silverado Z71...like the guy said, DONT crank your bars up(I DID IT), it SUCKED ASS. Now my truck is level and rides like stock!

It shouldn't affect tire wear because you are only changing the height of where the wheel assembly and A-Arms ride and not the spring rate BUT, you are changing the pinion angle of the CV-shafts in an Independent Front Suspension (IFS) system. with leveling kits though have to remember to keep stock offset, if you stick em out a bit you are more prone to rubbing, i have 6" fabtech lift, and 2" fabtech leveling kit on my F-150, and I my tires stick out 2" and I rub when hittin medium grade bumps while turning even with the 8" lift

What you said isn't neccesarily correct. i
drive a 2004 gmc Z71 crew cab and I have a leveling kit on it. i have aftermarket wheels (they're pro comp) and their 17"x9" and they have more offset than than the stock rims. I'm running 33" tires and i don't encounter any rubbing at all. Although my front bumper had the inner edge trimmed so it would be rounded off
They wouldn't have come close to scrubbing before the trimming. Tire size makes a big difference mine are 305/65/17's
