well there is a starwars warlords mod that was never completed, but it had all of the starwas ships (and i mean all of them) put into it with models, after the macross generations mod it would only be a matter of days to add the starwars machines to it

Remember it was capable of taking multiple Zentradi ships which were even bigger than the SDF-1 Macross itself!

There is a macross mod for homeworld 1 I heard that there was one for homeworld 2 that was only 80 percent done, this must be it. make the beam way bigger than that.

Yes, I strongly suggest to make the beam's duration longer and more flashy. After all, it is supposed to be a very destructive facemelting death ray ;).

May be you need better equalization in the sound effects you can do it in the lua file to get a better impact.

But excellent animation and visual effects.
