  • Angie Boyd did her schooling at the same time my basketball team's rival (Morton) Mississippi and she got signed thru Hammer's BUST IT imprint AND he discovered her moniker and made her a standout in his signature girl group OAKTOWN's 357. Angie's stage persona was always fiery with no back-down from Hammer's act. Living in ATL with her 2 children today,Angie has new music (with no intent of releasing). It should be noted that all wild female acts started here.

  • I have to admit this was the old days. This was the video I watched on TV when I was a high school student! Music really sucked as of late, but this track shows there were good days. The quality of this music is "proper," as the saying goes.

  • Angie Stone did start out before Angie Boyd. That's why B Angie B added the extra B to avoid confusion

  • Wow! This was back when BET, really was BET. BET had sooooo much good things going on back in the day...........now it's pretty much trash. And that's a shame.:(

  • I still have this on VHS from Video Soul. SMH

  • this use to be me and my cousins jam I was 10 and she was 14 we use to be dancing around the house lol our favorite part was when she freeze the music (3:59-4:13) we use to be striking poses LOL back when BET was worth watching video viberations, BET'S video soul, teen summit, midnight love, and News and sports

  • C'mon and say that you will......Take a DEEP breath! Check out the Hot Tracks mix of this track, used to pack my floor in '91.

  • Wow ..this was the sh*t back in the day .. She wore this song out plus she could dance.. i stil remember this in the clubs .. lol

  • you all may not be up but this angie stone back in the day, real talk, look it up

  • @flyhigh12316 actually they are not the same person. they just had similar names at the time.

  • I had to go back and listen to one of my old favs...B Angie B shake them hips hard boyyyy! I used to hurt my skinny ass tryna do that..lmao.

  • B Angie B is an incredibly gifted and talented performer / singer. I love this woman.

  • From 1 Angie to another-U BLOW GIRL!!!! She has a Great singing voice!

  • Still love this song! Still love B Angie B's remake from the original version (The Emotions). She was one of the people with actual talent but didnt make it big. It's sad because others who are less talented continue to blossom with the help of synthesizers and such.

  • That outfit she is wearing on the stairs looks like what Crazy wore on her dates (like the one to KFC) with Flavor Flav on Flavor of Love 2. LOL!!

  • I remember special generation and b angie b had a promotional tour when I was a teenager. I was in the front and she had energy! U wouldn't want 2 b next to her dancin she'll knock u out! Ne way I remember it so well cuz special generation member Charlie held my hand as they sang you are everything. To do that to a teenager...whew...I was done. I was a big Hammer fan then and aint ashamed to admit it. :) And man do I miss video soul....Those were some good times!

  • I was about 6 when this came out but this was my song. I used to love me some video soul. They need to bring that back

  • still love this!!!

  • All of the members Of Hammer's Posse had One hit wonders. I guess he ran of money to keep them all going. Too bad!

  • The Horns The Horns!!

  • this is when light skinned bros were in style!!! lol!!!

  • @diva647 that's silly if you're fine you're fine, light or dark skinned. Making the color of somebody's skin a trend is is just idiotic. What if somebody were to say you're out of style if you are a dark skinned female?

  • this is my girl

  • this so old

  • OMG!!!!

Man, thank you ashR66 for uploading this one.

    This definitely takes me back.

    B. Angie b could've been the new millenium Tina Turner with the energy and voice that she had. MC Hammer definitely did not market her right and these so-called artist today could learn ALOT from just watching this video alone.

    Long live the 90's!!!!

  • Such a damn shame that a song like this, or an artist of her talent/caliber, wouldn't see the light of day in today's music industry. Just show's how far we've fallen. Thank God for youtube and the 90's.

  • Hey back up singers...aint those the Pepsi girls? lmao

  • I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS VIDEO FOREVER,,,B*ANGIE*B IS THE SHIT!!!! BUT MUCH RESPECT STILL GOES TO BEYONCE....BEYONCE 4 VER!!

  • B Angie B was the shyt back then. I love this song. She had a voice I just wonder why she never went far. And she was pretty and could dance..!

  • @shauntee77 Ummm, I believe that is ANGIE STONE

  • @PalmerWhit Nope they're different people. Her government name is Angela Boyd.

  • Just for the record it's not "old school" but "but from the old school" and use to be the term was used for real classics from the 70 & 80's. The 80's was the bestest decade! Talk about what you know about!

  • dammit you needed stamina to dance to 90 music lmao!!!! i love it!!!

  • LOVE THIS SONG.. LOVE THIS ARTIST.. LOVE THE OLD SCHOOL..

  • this beat is sick

  • B Angie B is still that chic!! I love this song!!

  • dude looked like a young Rick Fox.

  • & b4 there wuz a Beyonce', we had B Angie B... dat thang used 2 work it!

  • this is still my shit!..I love it!!.. She goes hard!

  • I don't know, denzel. Remember the movie "Coming to America" - how Eriq La Salle looked (Soul Glo)? That was just a few years before this was made (1988 / 1991), so I guess a few people were still sporting the curl. Everybody I knew had a hi-top fade, but..........

  • The Emotions did this song back in the 70's but I like this remake. Go B Angie B. GO GO Go GO

  • she looks to wild for that white man

  • The man in the video is not a white man, he is a light skinned brother

  • @porican thank u!

  • I had to be about 4 when this dropped back in '91 (i was born in '86), but I vividly remember my dad bringing this cassette home back then and my sisters and I being so excited! MEMORIES!

  • Those back-up dancers are still off the hook. LOL!! I'll love you forever, B Angie B.

  • dayum....video soul!! I am getting old!!

  • get it B angie B, get it gurl!!! i think dats when SHAKING and VIBRATING started. u did dat B angie B.!!!!

  • This is a 90s video but her love interest in it looks like what sistas in the early 80s would've found attractive. B Angie B can do better than that.

  • @denzelsnipes69 lol, I agree... I always thought the love interest looked a bit 80's...

  • @ashR66 Just a question: What about the era of music dont you "get"? What is there to get? Just asking.

  • @denzelsnipes69

I believe this is an 80's vid.. from the late 80's... she was part of the MC Hammer clique...this is about 88', 89'.

  • @denzelsnipes69

Yep, when this came out, the whole Al B Sure thing was big. So thats why she had THAT guy in the picture.

  • @denzelsnipes69 You gotta remember it was early 1991 Dudes hadn't caught up yet. that guy in the video was probably the last of the Jeri-curl dudes

  • @denzelsnipes69 Dude looks like they did in the late 80's/early 90s. This came out in 1991....its not like it was the late 90's.

  • @denzelsnipes69 unfortunately in the 80s and 90s America is still stuck on "lighter skinned" black ppl (supposedly) look better than dark, he doesn't look all that to me either and I'm lighter skinned than he is...

  • great video

    thanks for taking me back

    lexdex

  • A damn shame with all that SHAKING...lol

I remember not being able to focus on her vocals because of ALL that gyrating. I dont know about everyone else, but it STILL gets that energy going. Her range was S I C K...wow.

  • B Angie B Reppin hard for Mississippi .....when R&B was still worth spending money on.

  • @tincredible You know she lives in Mississippi.. In Morton, of all places..

  • Mississippi is where it's at. Every place is what you make it.

  • Till this day I still have people call me B Angie B. LOVE IT!

  • Ahhhh!!!! You just don't know! If you going to do a cover do it some justice. She did it justice and then some. I want to see Beyonce' top it.

  • Y'all know that this is a cover, right?

The original is by a group from the 70's era called "The Emotions"

  • didnt know it.

  • Mike Tyson got caught in prison having sex with B. Angie B while he was in prison during a visit by her.

  • lol

  • I think one of the girls at the beginning look like SWV

  • God this angie chick was sooo out there

  • @2:25 isn't that Jamie Foxx? I still like the original version better.

  • this is the CUT

  • 1:03 "Them divas are PROPER!" LOL!

  • I remember she was so ahem...nasty, but I loved this damn song so much. at least she wasn't as bad as Petra tho ( :

  • This song is STILL very relevant. I wish someone with a powerful voice would cover it. Music like this would put today's music to shame.

  • heard the original this morning on Tom Joyner's show and was like I prefer this version!!

  • a fav of mine

  • I had this girl lodged in my memory for the longest time and finally found her cd in a clearance bin. I bought it and it became a favorite of mine for this song as well as "So Much Love".....B Angie B should still be going strong today?? Where is she? Was there only one album?

  • i still know all the words

  • i miss her

  • Ok talent!!

  • is this the lady from Oaktown? I guess she grew out of her girl power phase?

  • Dang, Ash you got like all the video's for real!

    -Stoicone!

  • this was my song.....lolol

  • damn i forgot how sexy she was......DAMN

  • yeah, she could dance too...like ciara, only with a better voice!

  • i found her i found her!!!!!!! she has a myspace page and she has new music, pics and all on it...and the new music is the shit!!!!

  • boy oh boy i can remember nights in front of the tv waiting for b angie b to come on and we go crazy dancing.....those were the days...when all you wanted to do is have damce contest...lmao i miss those days!!!!

  • Or a fashion show.

  • lol

  • great vid, but there ain't know beating the Emotions.

  • what the hell happened to B.E.T.? miss those days.

  • b angie b was hot. i wonder what she's doing today. i know she was from mississippi. who knows she might have gotten sick of the business. i can't blame her. what a voice though.

  • @grethomory B Angie B is actually Angie Stone

  • LOLOL, you know B Angie B and Angie Stone are two different people

  • Comment removed

  • Ok Ok lol I had no idea that they both went by the name "Angie B" at one point in time...I did some more research on the matter

  • @krys102884 No two different people. Stone born Angela Brown in S.C used to go by Angie B. B Angie B / Angela Boyd is from Mississippi . The B in front of Angie came from M.C. Hammer for "just be Angie"

    Both great talents .

  • @anatnominuk B Angie B stands for Be Yourself Angie Boyd. The Boyd's are from Morton, MS in Scott Co, The reason I know this is because I'm one.

  • @CiaraAngel1 I thought Hammer gave her that nickname and said it stood for "Beautiful Angie Boyd".

  • i lover alll along very much ~~

  • I still love this video.

  • Yeah, this diva was way too much for them back then. Everyone wants to call Beyonce' the modern day Tina; well here you have it, B Angie B should have had that title back in the 90's. She worked the hell out this song and had those same Tina Turner moves with just that little something extra added...

  • AGREED!!!!!!!

  • this what it is! no talent winches these days

  • Shot out to the 90's. I Still have this album on tape! I wonder where B angie B is now? She can sing!

  • this woman is no joke!! beyonce cant move, sing, or pop that thang like angie!!...angie reminds of coko mixed witha bit of patra!

  • OMG, B Angie B is on FIYAH in this song!

I was only 4 when this song came out so I didn't even know music then lol

Thank God for Youtube or else I would have never got a chance to savor the goodness of 90s music!

  • i was lucky to happen to see her in youngstown ohio in the earlys 90's she was totally amazing and when she went full power her voice might have been the most powerful in the industry.

  • This was when skin color didn't matter in the music industry. They didn't judge black female singers' beauty by skin color. They judge them by facial features and body type. Nowadays you've rarely see dark skinned women in the music industry with the exception of Jennifer ?Hudson and I don't consider her dark skinned. She's more like brown skinned.

  • @70sbaby80schild321 Not entirely true. All artists wear tons of make up to make their skin look lighter. Plus good lighting does wonders for everyone.

  • B Angie B covered this song pretty good. I'm sure The Emotions liked it very much.

  • This was one of the best videos of the early 1990s!

  • her and Karen White were my girls...OMG!!. SING IT BABY!! SING IT!!!!!!!

  • Karyn White with a Y not an e..

  • my bad!!

  • she was a dynamo!!!!

  • SHE WS SOO FLY

  • her and coko from swv kinda look alike

  • Agreed! B could sang her butt off...they slept on her!

  • You're right, they did.

  • i always wished that she would make more music. Me and my friends use to jam to her
