@CrakerMc You are incorrect. The PS1 can NOT overheat! Not unless you have it next to a heater and purposely heat it. You most likely, fried once of the IC's, because you shorted it out, or fried another component. It does NOT overheat!

Did you thing PS1 don't have overheating problems? Ok, it's your opinion, but my experience don't tell me same thing.

@CrakerMc Well, it would have not been heat. Anything could have happened. Mainly, it is the PSU that goes first, then / or a fuse. Extremely unlikely is an actually chip that burned out (as you call overheating). If you know your electronics, open it up, and test the PSU. Then check the test points on the PS1 mainboard.

i have a ps2 but i think the lens got a little piece of dust on it, because for it to read a disk you must keep on opeing and closing the disc drive for a long time even with a newly bought disc

The older models like the SCPH-1001 had the overheating problems then they mover the eye cause it kept melting. you can tell the older from the newer by the location of the eye. older models they had the eye in the back. newer models are on the side like this one in the video.

why would you want to cool down this Playstation ? xD to be honest i never had Overheating problems with any of the playstations tho my original xbox use to smell like melted rubber.

Sony should seriously make that technology on jetpacks that way no overheating problems happens (dont take the last thing i said seriously dudes)

Holy Shit! Ps2 and Pstwo gets too hot and have a lot heating problems.

Ps3 on about 5 minutes gets very hot too.

And ps1, my cousin have one and broken by heating of motherboard.

It isnt painted, it's grey original color, i don't like paint my old consoles, but if you watch my another modding videos you can see painted designs and more, dissamble and paint with spray car paint :)

If you use that Playstation console, you propably should replace the Spindle Hub on it as it seems to be missing some parts that hold the disc steady. Look at eBay.
