Hey thanks this is great. I have a version from "the contours essential collection" CD which has just about the most out of tune singing i've ever heard- the soloist starts off almost in tune with the piano but keeps getting flatter and the backing singers were even worse and kept pulling him down till they were almost a tone flat!!! so its nice 2 hear it more in tune :)
I remember when this came out. And I do agree, that this first version is the best version. I never thought that I would ever hear this again. I recently saw one of The Contours at a gospel brunch at a hotel here in Detroit. I mentioned to him that I had been a fan ever since "Whole Lotta Woman". He was surprised that I remembered this record. How could you forget.
I like this song, and yeah this version is much better than the others.
Also mate I do like how you give a little bit of history into the records also, it is important people know what they're listening to and the background of it
Can't get enough of this record, it's just so RAW.
