I don't believe CNN reporting the news is ever accurate, 100th anniversary and Obama finds the View more important? That is weak which deserves a merit badge of shame and another for foolish decision making.
The booes are justified. Obama does not support the Boy Scouts of America. He refuses to sign Eagle Scout Awards and life saving awards. Every president since 1912 has been the honorary President of the Boy Scouts of America. The Scouts were in the right to boo Obama. Why should respect be given to those who don't deserve it?
screw you CNN. i think your mocking the bsa at 1:19 and man i almost threw my computer off desk when you were talking about the 12 points of the law like that, but thats to be expected by a LEFT-WING news channel
@xSxExsceneskater did you actually listen to the video? It's because he didn't show up. The boy scouts aren't racist either, I know a chinese, spanish, black, and a few japanese kids from my school who are in it. Though, they do only allow christian members that will swear an oath to god which may make the "religioust," if that it is the right word.
I would have been thankful he didnt show up. The view over Boy Scouts? What a disgrace. I just ordered two anti-obama bumper stickers. Notice I didn't capitalize obama or the view. They both suck dick.
He diserves what he got. I am a boy scout and in situations like this, some of the 12 points contradict eachother. But that gives Obama absolutly no excuse to not show up at the BSA 100th Anniversery jamboree. The past 6 presidents did it, and the BSA has been helping the community for over 100 years. Plus Boy Scouts was the first government chartered organization, then baseball, it is basic patriatism for him to show up.
fuck you cnn. you guys make it seem like its a huge big deal that some boyscouts got up set that their president didnt show up. i mean realy youd be up set if a president said he was gonna show but never did. plus the boyscout oath says; " i wil do my best to do my duty to god and my country and to obey the scout law''. thats right do MYBEST. i should know ima boyscot of troop 179 in east longmeadow mass. so why dont you keep your comments to yourself, go back to girlscouts and leave the
"•As of 12/31/2010, Boy Scout youth membership included 792 202 Boy Scouts and 59 863 Varsity Scouts, for a total of 852 065, a one-year loss of 5.1%. There are 40 099 troops, with an average size of 20 youth members, and 8539 teams, with an average size of only 7 youth members."
@neoconsnightmare3 Once again, this is a dead link. And you have yet to post the link to the US census Bureau (learn how to spell it) and once again, your quote of the census bureau has nothing to do with the number of boys who have become scouts at one point in time. So I am at a loss as to why you posted this irrelevant quote.
@NRAdude once again, IF it's a dead link, what did i tell you to do. GOOGLE 'troop 97' and 'boy scouts demographics'. what's so difficult about that? you're a liar, that's why.
you can't post LINKS on youtube (you know that) thats why i put astericks and spell out 'c*mmm'. you're either a liar or an exterme dolt? which is it?
you keep saying you gave two sites , yet i only saw ONE. and that was an op ed. instead of blithering (to take up space) just give the second site.
@neoconsnightmare3 It's not my job to do your research for you and it's not my problem if you don't know how. Once again, you've liked your own posts. Get off your multiple yahoo/youtube accounts and go back to your hurdles track doosh. I did repost the second site, I'm not doing it again.
@neoconsnightmare3 I how can you say that I haven't given a second source when I've already reposted it? How am I trying to take up space? How can I do or say that which I don't know? Especially when it has to do with statements that you've made? Now you're lying, you said that 5% of boys were active scouts as of last year, now you're saying that 5% of Boys were scouts. Logical Fallacy of Equivocation. You really set yourself up for that one.
@neoconsnightmare3 1) Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it's there. Just like you didn't see my post on the other thread and yet it was still there after you finally searched for it and realized your stupidity. 2) We're the only two talking, I doubt anyone would step up and say anything to us other than commenting on the video. Just because they haven't said anything doesn't mean it doesn't exist. HAs anyone else said they can't find it? 3) I did say where it's at. 4) I have reposted
@neoconsnightmare3 Well, here it is. You said "similar." Even if they are "similar" then they aren't equivalent as similar >< Equivalent. Therefore you have made another Logical Fallacy of Equivocation.
@neoconsnightmare3 Now you are lying again. You said the BSA said 1.1million active scouts as of last year. Now you're saying 1.1 million scouts. The whole gets deeper
@NRAdude i'm lying? where? active scouts, scouts at the end of 2010, etc. bottom line...there were 1.1 millions scouts 'on the roster' at the end of 2010, a '5% drop' from the prior year.
u.s. census bureau: 26 million boys between 5-17
boy scouts demographics: 1.1 million boy scouts dec 201
total percentage of boys that were scouts: 4.23%
wheres your second site corraborating your '1/4' stat in the op ed you cited?
@neoconsnightmare3 He diserves the booing.
@NRAdude LOL...you're pissed because i'm better at your game than you are.
i've also suggested to others you've played your game with to keep asking your to prove your points...and the results are clear...WHOLE ROOMS delete your idiocyy and vote others up.
bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa.
how does that make you feel? impotent. impotent enough to make up several personas? doesn't matter...the results will STILL be you NOT getting that last word you crave.
@neoconsnightmare3 How are you better when you have yet to correctly cite a valid source or even yet to make an argument that has anything to do with my statement you're trying to disprove? What other "rooms" are you referring to? All the other rooms I've been in have voted mine up. Are you saying that you've been following me around? That's kind of creepy.
@NRAdude you know how to find the census bureau online, don't you? i mean, just google 'census bureau' and 'boys between 5-17. you're still trying to divert but i won't let you. you'll find its 26 million boys
i've given you the bsa website. if it's allegedly a dead link, just google 'boy scouts of america' and 'demographics'. you get 1.1 million boys at end of dec 2010
you CAN do basic division, can't you? divide 1.1 million over 26 million and what do you get? 4.23%, round to 5%.
@NRAdude since 'boys who are scouts at one time' is a MEANINGLESS 'stat', (thus the boy scouts don't have it on their demographics page', i've also asked you to state WHY 'being a scout at some point' is meaningful. you just repeat your same silliness. that shit don't work with me.
you're trying to fill up space and take my links/sources away, since your lie about my never listing them has been destroyed. won't work. as soon as they go to page two, i'll simply post them again.
@neoconsnightmare3 So if what you say is true, then the US Census Bureaus stats are meaningless because they aren't on the BSA demographics page? Way to contradict your own supposed sources. Once again, you have yet to post one working link on here so my original statement still holds true. I never said you didn't quote it, I said you didn't cite it properly. Logical Fallacy of the Straw Man.
where did i say/imply that the TWO DIFFERENT SOURCES (census bureau's number of boys and boy scouts SUBSET of boys in the scouts at end of year 2010) mutually exclusive?
of course,i didn't but you seemingly THINK you're clever and just say stuff...you failed.
prove that '1/4 of boys are a scout at one time' is a meaningful stat, since the scouts didnt think so.
@neoconsnightmare3 Blithering? I don't know what you mean by that but blithering as in stating your run track for an irrelevant school who probably didn't win a single gold in any event? I was asking you the question if you were saying that you admitted that I posted the two sources. I never said that you said or implied anything. Logical Fallacy of the Straw Man. Fact is I have posted two working and relevant links. You have yet to do so. No I'm not reposting it again. You can go look.
@NRAdude yes, you're blithering. you keep saying things like 'i never said you said', when your implications are completely unfounded. this is designed to push the PROOF i've given off the page. no problem. i'll just keep posting the census and boy scouts stats.
your game is also to NOT give that mythical second source that backs up your claim that '1/4 of boys scouts at some point'; and your claim that it's even a relevant stat (the bsa didnt use it).
my 'track team' reference was quite relevant. i found track interesting and fun. so did most folks at MY high school. but, clearly, most folks don't give a damn about track and field, or it would be a big time pro sport. it's not.
this is the same for boyscouts, junior. those that are involved rightly find it interesting and fun. but MOST boys are NEVER scouts, most parents are NEVER scout parents so MOST people don't care about obama not showing up.
@neoconsnightmare3 I highly doubt most of your folks at your highschool found it relevant. Post some statistics proving your point. And second, Logical Fallacy of Equivocation, just because no one cares about track doesn't mean they don't care about BSA. Again, why would the president spend his time to send a taped message to the BSA jamboree if nobody cares about them?
@NRAdude what you 'highly doubt' about my high school experiences is immaterial. already told you that our basketball and football teams sucked...track was the only thing we had. take it like you find it.
i shan't post stats on what happened almost 30 years ago. more diversion. it was an analogy i gave. deal with it.
but, the census folks say there are 26 million boys 5-17 in america; boy scouts say there are 1.1 million scouts at end of dec 2010.
@neoconsnightmare3 Under your logic, if you don't post your sources, then you're lying. So If we're going to treat each other's situations fairly, I should conclude you're lying?
@neoconsnightmare3 Under your logic, if you don't post your sources, then you're lying. So If we're going to treat each other's situations fairly, I should conclude you're lying?
no you only posted ONE site (not link) and it was a baseless op ed. you can TRY and divert from your failures to give that second one...but in all that energy you could have posted it again. that's IF you posted it at all..which you didn't.
you're a liar.
as far as MY sources: census d*ttt guv . you can then find the number of boys between the ages of 5-17 (it's 26 million).
go to the boy scouts of america site, put in 'demographics' and you'll see number scouts dec 2010.
@neoconsnightmare3 No it wasn't an op-ed. It was a BSA troop website. You may think that I only posted one but that doesn't mean I didn't post it. Obviously many things you think are incorrect. No, I'm not reposting it after I already reposted it.
@neoconsnightmare3 What commitment he couldn't keep? How was he going to make ammends for it by sending a video to the BSA? Again, according to your past posts, you stated the active membership as of last year. That doesn't include the boys who are no loner scouts because they either dropped out or are temporarily inactive. Try again kid
the census bureau for the number of boys ages 5-17.
Obama doesn't give two shits about the "racist" "christian" Boy Scouts. He was raised to hate all things white, Christian and that makes kids proud to be American; unfortunately, that pretty much describes the Boy Scouts. How any member of the military can take an oath to follow this marxist, anti-american clown's orders without puking is a mystery.
@BloodofPatriots really? obama was 'raised to hate all things white'? so he hated his mother? and grandparents? what proof do you have of this?
he hates 'all things Christian'? hmmmm, so him being part of that church in chicago for 20 years (and 'churches' are a sign of Christianity) was a myth?
you DO realize that 'boy scouts' have membership in other countries beyond the united states, don't you?
and being 'white' and 'Christian' are synonymous with being 'proud to be american'?
@neoconsnightmare3 Sitting in those pews and nodding to America-hater Reverend Wright's every word is proof he hates America. Since you equate black liberation theology with anything resembling christianity or pro-americanism, you're a moron. Lt. Col. Allen West is not white, but he is "proud to be American" and, unlike Obama, proved it by putting himself in harm's way in Iraq, sacrificing his career to save the lives of his men. Name one thing Obama did that was as selfless?
i'm quite intelligent, but you've yet to PROVE YOUR POINTS about obama hating all things white, christian and american. either you can or can not prove it.
west is a right wing idiot, and the things he says proves it.
why should obama join the military to 'prove' anything. i was an officer in the army, but doesnt 'prove' a thing.
community work is 'selfless'
now, prove he 'hates' all things white (with his white mom) ,christian and american.
@neoconsnightmare3 Reverend Write: Goddamn America! Obama's response? Nodded in agreement. Allen West hold's two master's degrees (one in political science), is an honorable soldier, and defies all black stereotypes that Obama depends on to get re-elected. If you were an officer, you'd look pale in comparison to West. By the way, I don't believe your officer claim -- it's SOP for lefties to make fake claims of military service, right, Jesse MacBeth? Community work is far from "selfless", liar.
@BloodofPatriots should God PRAISE america for slavery and jim crow and racism? that's what he was referring to.
really? obama 'relies on black stereotypes'? if he did, he'd never had been elected. try again. i served honorably, have an mba and defy all the stereotypes, and yet i voted for obama. poor mccain just didn't have anything to offer (and i LIKE mccain...he's one of the better republicans when lucid).,
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@neoconsnightmare3 You can't have a MBA. Anyone with a graduate degree would know the fallacy of arguing from personal anecdote. You're a proven liar. Go ahead, you alabama porch monkey.
@BloodofPatriots LOL...'fallacy'? so, you've got a new name. kinda figured that with the 'lefty' comment.
you haven't proven i'm a lefty after,what, THREE MONTHS of rambling,have you?
bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha.,
actually, trailer trash, never lived in the south. you still taking it down the throat at the glory hole? see...i can throw in things that don't matter like you and get RIGHT BACK TO THE POINT:
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@neoconsnightmare3 So, when insulted you project your latent homosexuality onto your attackers? Must have worked for you in prison, since its far more likely a nigger would go to prison than graduate school. I'll just pat your little head, you tribal nigglette. Run along and get your free government cheese, you lying welfare bunny. :)
@BloodofPatriots so, when insulted you project your latent self hate onto your attackers?
you must have worked every glory hole in your trailer park, since its far more likely a piece of whitetrash would work a glory hole than know the meaning of 'fallacy'.
i'll just kick you in the teeth and decline your offer for a 'free blow' because i don't go that way.
you inbred hillbilly glory bend over boy. run along and have your sister/mother spend some of her food stamps on 'sum chewin tabacky'.
@neoconsnightmare3 Interesting... whenever a nigger is pissed off, he/she/it reverts to projections of homosexuality, violence, and pimping. Must be part of those inferior nigger genes you have, you know, the nigger genes that prevented your nigger ancestors from evolving past the Stone Age until Europeans and Arabs decided to force them into slavery.
@BloodofPatriots LOL...you've become boring with this persona. luckily,i didn't expect more from you.
so, i'm going to ignore this persona of yours and concentrate on the other one i've been dogging out for months. that way you've lost your ability to divert from the topic at hand.
@neoconsnightmare3 You're paranoid. What persona? You're nothing but a nigger coward, licking the shit from obama's ass because he's a nigger. You 3rd worlders are all tribal. It's why Africans never contributed shit to human civilization. Go back to Africa and rape babies to cure your AIDS or eat albinos so you'll get magical powers. You are subhuman and in serious need of extinction, not to mention being a violent, latent homosexual. You're probably required to register as a sex offender.
@BloodofPatriots by the way, 'fallacy boy': you can't be terribly educated, per your standards, since you're arguing from the fallacies of incomplete information and third party anecdotes.
DAMN, you caught yourself. you're funny. stick around so i can rip you more. i mean, let this persona of you stick around.
shut up reporter lady!!! you dont know for sure what they were booing about i dont know for sure either but all i can say is im a boy scout and i would have booed for both reasons.and thats another thing too nobody is a perfect boy scout so we are not always kind.
As a 15 year old boy scout, I found this video highly unprofessional and insulting on the part of the reporter. Although I was unable to attend due to the over 1,000$ price tag, I can still appreciate how big of an event it was and how truly important it was to the guys who were able to go. Is it really a surprise that a number of scouts in the crowd were disappointed that instead of seeing the president make a speech to them live, he sent a video? It was just a couple teenagers, get over it.

I was a Boy Scout as a kid, but come on Obama, show a bit of dignity for these kids. Some of the past presidents of the United States were Scouts too.
I like how in the final seconds the reporter has to try and claim that somehow really the boy scouts are the ones who weren't the totally upstanding party.
@neoconsnightmare3 Wow, now you're trying to post without responding to my posts. Typical liberal tactic-cut and run. Still have yet to cite any material that says anything about the current number of boys who have been scouts at one point in time. Go fish.
@neoconsnightmare3 You do realize that all the "statistics" that you gave, even though you have no proof that they even exist because you cited them improperly, only refer to existing active Scouts. They say nothing about inactive or even former scouts who were involved in scouting at one point in time. They do keep such a stat which is why I cited two troops with that stat on their home page. Go fish.
@NRAdude i gave proof of the stats.in fact, gave the link (boy scouts link) and even the US CENSUS. LOL...anyone can go to those sources and see i'm correct. that's why YOU try so hard to vote the proof down.
that's some sad,sad stuff on your part. alas...you vote it down, and i'll just put it back up. that's how it'll go. forever if need be.
actually, the 2010 stats of 1.1million scouts said 'down 5% from last year'. so, STILL only 4-5% of boys scouts in any given year.
@neoconsnightmare3 Hahaha, if you think that simply posting some random link to some page that has no statistics on it whatsoever counts as proving or citing your source, then you need to go back to elementary school son. There were no statistics on any of the pages you cited. Even if I did "vote it down" I could only do it once. What's funny is you're multiple yahoo accounts you use to try and vote it up. Again, no stats on how many boys were scouts at one point in time.

@NRAdude doesnt matter who drops in/drops out. ROSTERS are what counts.
you're actually quite hilarious. you're now questioning the boy scouts themselves, and how THEY measure who's in. and you use a baseless '1/4 of the boys were scouts at some point', as though that were relevant.
your time...you can use it any way you choose. LOL.
@neoconsnightmare3 Well if that's your attitude, then you're entire argument is invalid because you're basing it off of the logical fallacy of the straw man. I cited the quote from two independent scout websites that state 1 in 4 boys become scouts. That's boys who become scouts at one point in time. In which case, it does matter who drops out because, even though they dropped out, they were once scouts. Case closed. You have yet to cite or present any statistics saying otherwise. Go fish lol
@NRAdude you only cited ONE op ed on a boy scout page. the writer didNOT source his '1/4' number.
i've repeatedly cited:
1) census bureau (26 million boys ages 5-17)
2) the boy scouts website DEMOGRAPHICS (how many boy scouts as of dec 2010).
the scouts give that 1.1 million number so THEYTHINK it's relevant. they don't get into 'boys that were scouts at 'some point' in their lives'because that's a meaningless number.
Now under your logic, you lied. But I know better than that and find it more likely that you forgot as per the usual amnesia that accompanies your liberal brain.

@neoconsnightmare3 Now under your logic, you lied. But I know better than that and find it more likely that you just forgot per your usual amnesia that comes with your liberal brain. Now, so you do admit that none of the statistics that you have yet to post have any data whatsoever that indicates as to how many boys were scouts at one point in time?
@neoconsnightmare3 Because you said that I only posted 1 when I claimed I posted two and the post which I posted below proves that I did in fact cite two sources. Under your logic, you've always concluded that similar mishaps were because of lying. Therefore, under your logic, you lied. However. I'm not the one who falls for inductive fallacies and no better. They do mention it as both of the sites that I cited mention it. Second of all, again, those stats only list the current active members.
@neoconsnightmare3 Add sources? Did I not say that this was reposted EXACTLY the same way it was posted a month ago? Everybody on this board can see that you are either suffering from amnesia or are simply lying. However under your logic, it would be lying. So you admit that you haven't stated how many boys were scouts at one point in time?
@neoconsnightmare3 Whether you count it as a relevant stat or not is irrelevant. That's what I was referring to. Therefore, if you wish to refute my claim then you must address it and not another claim that I didn't make. Or do you wish to address a claim that I didn't make? And as for the two sources, try looking a few posts down on this page.
@neoconsnightmare3 How did you get me? If you say that the Boy Scout website is good enough for proof then why are the two sites that I posted a month ago with the specific statistic that "1 in 4 boys will become scouts" good enough? If not, then neither of your stats that you claim are from "Boy Scout websites" are relevant unless you can prove that those website statistics are correct. No son, that's not how logic works. You got yourself on that one.
@neoconsnightmare3 You mean like the two I just reposted below? You even said before that "you added sources" below so given that you know that I posted these two sites and now you're claiming that I didn't post any, you're the one who's lying and everyone on this board can see it including your multiple yahoo accounts. So you not only admit that you never posted the correct links to these supposed sites but you also admit they do not state how many boys were scouts at one point in time?
@NRAdude really? i have 'multiple accounts'? nice try at diversion, but you failed...again.
in all your blithering, you could have simply GIVEN THE SITES AGAIN.
i gave my TWO SITES (you cant dispute them...the census bureau and the boy scouts themselves) that combined say 5% of american boys were scouts at the end of 2010. the scouts dont seem to think 'scout at some point in their lives' is important enough to mention on their demographics.
@neoconsnightmare3 No you didn't give any sites. All you gave were links with nothing on them. Did you not see where I reposted those same sites below? Yah, blithering is the least of your problems. And even if we assumed that you did post sites with the claimed stats, they have nothing to do with how many boys were scouts at one point in time. So you admit that you did not address my statement at all?
@neoconsnightmare3 Interesting, this supposed site you gave is a dead link. Nothing comes up. And as for the census bureau, cite the URL or, under your logic, it's false. And also this one you cited 1 month ago on page 30 has nothing on it. "Legacy of Honor: The Values and Influence of America's Eagle Scouts" by Alvin Townley(2007). legacyofhonor d-** c**m " That's more or less the one I was referring to but this one also has nothing on it referring to stats of BSA. Learn how to cite properly.
@NRAdude really? what gives a dead link? the 'troop 97' link? be a good boy and GOOGLE 'troop97', 'boy scouts' and 'demographics 2010'.
i read legacy of honor, and that's the UNSUBSTANTIATED '1/4 of boys scouts at some point in their lives' line i was talking about. what CORRABORATES that number? and STILL you've not given why that's important, given that the boy scouts don't have that on their 'demographics' page.
@neoconsnightmare3 Yes it gives a dead link. No, it's not my job to do your research for you. And as I've already stated, even if these supposed stats exist, you've only stated that they give the numbers of current active members. Do you admit that you haven't addressed my statement? I cited two websites that I reposted 2 days ago. And yet here you are, once again, claiming that they don't exist even when I reposted them proving your prior statement wrong. Their demographics page =active members
@neoconsnightmare3 Oh and what do you know, your post already has 3 votes just like all of your other posts within 30 minutes. Exactly 3 votes for every post you've made usually within the first 10-15 minutes. Get off your multiple yahoo accounts.
@neoconsnightmare3 You've stated this once before and I've already asked you to state which "people" you mean. You can't support it with any kind of evidence whereas I have yet again to point out that you have EXACTLY 3 votes yet again on each of your posts within the first 30 minutes again if not sooner. What other threads are you talking about? Multiple yahoo accounts means multiple youtube accounts.
@neoconsnightmare3 Even if I did mark it as spam, I can only do that once. It seems youtube and a lot more people don't like your comments as there are uneven down votes on your previous posts. However there is always an even number of up votes on your posts minutes after you post them. And don't try and only vote up your posts an odd number of times, it'll only prove my point now that I've pointed you out. Nice try kid.
@NRAdude yes, and i can only 'thumbs up' my statements once. soooo, uhhhh, PROVE i have multiple 'yahoo accounts' and how yahoo is even relevant.
it seems a lot more people don't like your statements, and that's why most of what you say gets voted down or spammed. did you have a point?
now, if you post TWO RELEVANT SITES that back up your statement that allegedly '1/4 of boys scouts at one time' AND show that it's a RELEVANT stat,i'll beg folks NOT to spam it,or REPOST it.

@neoconsnightmare3 Wrong, if you have multiple yahoo accounts, then you can have multiple youtube accounts. Now you're trying to act stupid rather than being stupid. Neither is a good choice.
@NRAdude if it gives a 'dead link', then simply google 'boyscouts of america', 'demographics', 'troop 97', as i suggested earlier.
yep, current membership at THE END OF THE YEAR is the only important stat. that's why the scouts have THAT on the demographics page...not the alleged '1/4 of all boys are scouts 'at some time'',which you've YET to:
1) corraborate with RELEVANT (census, boy scouts,etc) source, much less two;
@neoconsnightmare3 Logical Fallacy of the straw Man. I, nor my quote, was referring to anything having to do with the number of active members at the end of a fiscal year. Are you blindly assuming that whatever the BSA has on their website necessarily has to do with our discussion whatever it may be? Recharacterising my argument and then responding to an argument I didn't make only makes you look foolish. I cited two sources which are two separate BSA troops.

Obama doesn't give two shits about the "racist" "christian" Boy Scouts. He was raised to hate all things white, Christian and that makes kids proud to be American; unfortunately, that pretty much describes the Boy Scouts. How any member of the military can take an oath to follow this marxist, anti-american clown's orders without puking is a mystery.
BloodofPatriots 5 months ago
@BloodofPatriots really? obama was 'raised to hate all things white'? so he hated his mother? and grandparents? what proof do you have of this?
he hates 'all things Christian'? hmmmm, so him being part of that church in chicago for 20 years (and 'churches' are a sign of Christianity) was a myth?
you DO realize that 'boy scouts' have membership in other countries beyond the united states, don't you?

Name one thing Obama did that was as selfless?

As a 15 year old boy scout, I found this video highly unprofessional and insulting on the part of the reporter. Although I was unable to attend due to the over 1,000$ price tag, I can still appreciate how big of an event it was and how truly important it was to the guys who were able to go. Is it really a surprise that a number of scouts in the crowd were disappointed that instead of seeing the president make a speech to them live, he sent a video? It was just a couple teenagers, get over it.

26 million boys 5-16. add another million for 17-18, or 27 million.
1.1 million boy scouts (per the boyscouts own stats) / 27 million boys 5-18 = 4% of boys are boy scouts
i don't know WHY anyone would want to remove FACTS that the boy scouts of america and the census bureau put out? does anyone here?

NRAdude 5 months ago
@NRAdude you DO realize that 'statistics' are a 'snapshot' of things.
i've proven over and over that most boys are never scouts. even your baseless claim that '1/4 of boys are scouts' shows most aren't.
saying '1/4 of boys are scouts at some point' is a meaningless stat...that's why the boy scouts THEMSELVES don't keep such a stat.
they DO keep 'end of the year numbers', and as of dec 2010 that was about 1.1 million boys.
or about 4-5% of american boys. you lose...again.
neoconsnightmare3 5 months ago

@neoconsnightmare3 You do realize that all the "statistics" that you gave, even though you have no proof that they even exist because you cited them improperly, only refer to existing active Scouts. They say nothing about inactive or even former scouts who were involved in scouting at one point in time. They do keep such a stat which is why I cited two troops with that stat on their home page. Go fish.
NRAdude 5 months ago
@NRAdude i gave proof of the stats.in fact, gave the link (boy scouts link) and even the US CENSUS. LOL...anyone can go to those sources and see i'm correct. that's why YOU try so hard to vote the proof down.
that's some sad,sad stuff on your part. alas...you vote it down, and i'll just put it back up. that's how it'll go. forever if need be.
actually, the 2010 stats of 1.1million scouts said 'down 5% from last year'. so, STILL only 4-5% of boys scouts in any given year.
neoconsnightmare3 5 months ago
@neoconsnightmare3 Hahaha, if you think that simply posting some random link to some page that has no statistics on it whatsoever counts as proving or citing your source, then you need to go back to elementary school son. Go fish lol
NRAdude 5 months ago
@NRAdude you only cited ONE op ed on a boy scout page. the writer didNOT source his '1/4' number.
i've repeatedly cited:
1) census bureau (26 million boys ages 5-17)
2) the boy scouts website DEMOGRAPHICS (how many boy scouts as of dec 2010).
the scouts give that 1.1 million number so THEYTHINK it's relevant. they don't get into 'boys that were scouts at 'some point' in their lives'because that's a meaningless number.
case NOW closed. this can go on forever, kid.

@NRAdude really? you like to add sources, but hey, i could be mistaken? what was that other source again?
nope, under my logic,i'm still correct. folks can go to:
1)the boy scouts web page, then to 'demographics';
2) go to the census bureau for number of boys 5-18;
3)know that the 4-5% of boys in 2010 were scouts (per#1/#2) is a relevant factor given that the bsa used it;
4) know that the unsupoorted '1/4 of boys are scouts at some point' is irrelevant, since the bsa doesn't use it.

i only 'admit' that the 'scout at one point' is not a relevant stat...that's why the BOY SCOUTS THEMSELVES don't count that as a 'demographic stat'.

Recharacterising my argument and then responding to an argument I didn't make only makes you look foolish. I cited two sources which are two separate BSA troops.
