Captain Falcon became Giygas due to a conflict between the 8th and 9th Laws of the Universe, which state that Captain Falcon can never be destroyed, and the Falcon Punch destroys everything it touches. However, Marth was able to successfully counter the Falcon Punch right before it hit him, sending the attack back at Falcon himself (which destroyed him). This conflicts with the 8th Law of the Universe, creating a paradox. To avoid sheer annihilation, Falcon's overall essence needed to remain.
