  • The record is 1/3 of a mile at 684.8 yards by Kelly Murray.

  • @OzBooger

Oh then I wished i was that strong.

Many Drivers that i hit it so hard i think one them starting to give up on

    sweetspot.

I can get to LD speed around 140+ but i can do it one or two times.

    Carried 340 but low shot.

    Carried 340 but that's a stinger-like launch angle.

  • my names Blake Canestrare. I will be on the PGA Tour one day. Remember this

  • @Blake448 what will you be doing on the pga tour cleaning clubs

  • @bruizer1100 no. playing

  • @Blake448 shouldnt you first set your goal at breaking 100

  • @bruizer1100 funny. im shooting low 80s with clubs that dont fit me. just remember.

  • LIKE A BOSS

  • that is not the GREAT Mike Doddyn

  • Bullshit!!!!!!!

  • Romney ur a moron John daly hits 400+ on the tour all the time

  • @accuracyrus88 lol John does not hit 400 on tour......

  • @accuracyrus88 lol no he doesnt

  • You guys... the 551 yard drive is done with special drivers that are not legal on the PGA tour. Custom-made, long shaft, extra stiff shaft, bigger club head, special ball, etc.

No one can hit more than 380 or so yards with PGA regulation equipment. No one.

  • @2012Romney bro jamie sadlowski has and adams driver that is perfectly legal on tour

  • @PRFOOTBALL3

Any shaft that is not exceeding 48 inches long is legal on tour.

They swing the club 30 mph faster than me so they need to get fit with XX or XXX shaft.

They hit the same 460cc head like all of us.

And ball is not a special ball it's a higher compression ball for long drive.

Like Pinnacle gold distance or Offical ball like Pinnacle gold FX long.

  • @brainysnaeha not the same head the faces are much thicker so they dont break on every shot

  • @2012Romney Mike Austin regularly drove over 400 yards and hit a 515 yard drive playing on the senior's tour.

  • @2012Romney false, all the drivers are in regulation of USGA rules.....

  • @2012Romney Do you have any evidence to support this theory? I'm 20 years old, don't work out regularly, haven't played but twice since I graduated in 2009, use a Nickent 9.0 degree driver with a stiff shaft and can still knock it over 310 easy. Calcavechia (sp?) hit a drive that carried 340 on the Champions Tour a few weeks ago. If an older guy like that can hit that far with a regulation driver, I'm sure younger players can generate clubhead speed to get it past 380. & a special ball? wtf.

  • @2012Romney You're an idiot. Get your facts straight.

  • @wwehdizzle.. Who considers 275 with wind, a big hitter? I'll admit 275 is my max on my best drive but the guys I play with are normal people, we are all around +25, but they drive 275 and more all day.

  • @goodboy7021 275 is above average, for sure. I max out at 315 on flat ground with no wind. But 275 is plenty good. A few guys on tour average about 275, and they shoot far below par on a regular basis.

  • @goodboy7021 +25 handicap?

  • a 551 yard drive is impossible. Unless it was off a cliff.

  • well then you have seen jamie sadlowski... i have and this guy doesnt even come close...try 221 ball speed and 152 mph club head speed

  • how does a guy who supposedly hit a bal 551 yards only hit it 360 on the moniter....dont you think that if he could hit it 551 yards that he should average like 460 on every drive.....so i think his record is bullshit....he hits it a ton farther than i can but still....551 yards, lets be real

  • @bcmoykg lmao hes 6 foot 8 inches 300 pounds works in the gym 6 days a week, has an amazing swing, takes a random asian driver and hits 360 yards... really ma man?

  • i bet he cant putt worth a shit though ;D

  • my long drive is 360yds.

  • the dude said 351. not 551.

  • So im called a big hitter and at best i can get maybe 275 if the wind is with me and he hits it 551 thats nire than double mine =/

  • such a nice swing

  • dustin johnson was hitting it 350 on the taylor made fitting video

  • I hate it when normal joes just kiss ass while watching.

  • so much power with such a classic swing. In balance. Nice! Sure helps being built like a house but still, really great swing!

  • @ElGolfeux try seeing it in person...quite nice! thats my daddy!!!!

  • MIKE AUSTIN WAS THE GREAT TEACHES IN THE WORLD OF GOLF AND HE HIT GOLF BALL 515 YARD. DAN SHAUGER LEARN FROM THE BEST TEACHES AUSTIN. I HAD SEVERAL LESSONS FROM DAN AND NOW I HIT MY GOLF BALL STRAIGHT DOWN LINE NOW AND HE HELP WITH MY PUTTING TO AND HE HELP JAACOBB WINNER ALL GOLF GAMES DAN TEACHES HIM SEVERAL YEAR WHAT WHY HE IS WHAT IS TODAY DAN HAS 2 BOOK AND 27 DVD THANK TO DAN I PLAY A BETTER AROUND OF GOLF NOW aperfectswing GREAT TEACHES DAN IS EVERYBODY SHOULD LOOK UP DAN

  • For a gay guy mike really pounds it. he loves to pound.

  • @vinesboyseventysix hahahaha

  • Wind plays a major factor into all of this... I was on a Par 4 last week, 348 to the hole and reached. I would have guessed around 15-20 mph gusts, maybe even more when the ball is high up in the air. I still only pared it. ><

Point is, on the calmest of days, I need perfect contact to get around 275-300. You can clearly 'hear' the strong wind at this event.

  • look at his fucking arms lmao

  • Man this guy rips it up....I bet his short games crap

  • Why is he standing so close to the ball? Is that the only thing he can do cuz of his height?

  • @ATsax501 maybe, but mostly because here he is using a "regular length" shaft probably around 45", while he's most likely used to using 47-48" shafts since he's a LD beast.

  • 6'8'' and 300lbs? shouldve went to football! haha

  • that's dangerous and you should be arrested.

  • My average drive last weekend was 305, and I was proud. 551? That's just sick.

  • As they say: "Drive for show, putt for who gives a shit."

  • this guy is the man with world record 551. seeing him hit regular length drivers makes the club look like a junior driver LOL. consider that he usually hits 48-50: drivers also (most long drivers do this for increased SS)

  • Thats all good and well but remember.... You drive for show but you putt for dough..

Still HOLY SHIT THAT GUY CAN HIT A BALL

  • the guy with the computer wants to fuck that mike dobbyn

  • shoooooot if we could get shaq into playin on the links i bet he could drive it foreverrrrrrrr. his driver would stand at 6'4 hahaha

  • When he hit it 551 i think the carry was about 460 - 470. It is possible with the longer clubs they use. Remember mike Dobbyn is 6'8" and about 18 stone.

  • I saw him hit and he definitely hits it at least 360 yards most likely further.

  • Did the guy with the laptop talking remind anyone of that business card scene from American Psycho? That's bone.

  • my fuckin ass.

  • u cant hit a golf ball 365 u suck at with lies

  • @kevinfart1 well consider the type of driver he was using didnt fit him.....its like saying a guy with a X flex who is really awesome is using a R and he still hit much further then most of the population of this planet

  • @kevinfart1 Your joking right? He was in the REMAX LONG DRIVE....Just saying..Im pretty sure he won it once.

  • @kevinfart1 No but Chuck Norris can hit one over 1000 yards fucker hahaha

  • Um yea, they certainly can. The longest recorded drive on the Nationwide tour is by Bubba Watson at 442. Thats in a tournament. Most of the long drive champs use clubs much longer than normal for added flex and this guys 6'8". If he holds the angle retention down long enough the club head speed hell produce through impact will be enormous. Im 6ft and my longest is something in the 370s. Its possible.

  • also remember johny that mike trains specifically for golfing and long driving

  • one of the only long drivers with a nice swing

  • year, like john daly lol.

  • can you give me a link to mastering your golf swing, DBO551?

  • y ishis club so short

  • it is a standard length driver, and not mine. It probably looks so short to you because I am 6' 8" tall and 300 pounds.

  • Im 6'6 260 lbs. Maybe not as much of a beast as you, but I do work out daily. Everyone tells me I look too big for my driver too. (Its 46 inches) Anyhow, what is your driver of choice, I know you get this question alot, but I mean like a reasonably priced one. I'm hitting and old BB 454 Ti. It seems to do alright.

  • FYI everybody... I am hitting the Fuji shaft here which is 45" long and only a X flex with a Mizuno 8.5* head, so it doesn't come close to fitting me. They said my high swing speed was 137 and high ball speed was 193 on the TrackMan.

  • Good man Mike! Thanks for the info. Was all that beer on Friday night in Bahama Breeze part of your training?? We put you in the Irish newspaper. Keep in touch. Doc

  • Of course the beer is part of the training! LOL!!!! Thanks for the coverage Doc.

  • what would have been the ball speed with a prov 1 x or pinnacle fx long?

  • I don't know. I've never compared those balls to the (I believe it was the) Top-Flite ball that I was hitting there.

  • @DBO551

Hey quick question. Im driving like 300-325 with a kmart driver that stands 44" and it dents in the face after every 30-40 good hits. I need to know what are the main clubs used by you guys in the long drive competitions. Ive heard big berthas but dont know which ones. Ive heard diablos, proline, redline. etc. I have no idea what to get and I can only afford 1 quality used club. Also what loft is good for LD's and what shafts. Thanks and keep hammering them hehe.

  • @freedomorfearthem its mainly fitted drivers that are regular like say a taylormade R7 ...there are a lot of long drive clubs

  • @freedomorfearthem Hey bud, you need a better driver! We use primarily Krank, Cobra, Adams, Geek, and Alpha driver heads. You can find any of them online just by searching. Most guys in LD use between 4 and 7 degree lofted heads. Hope that helps!

  • @DBO551 Hey thanks man. I finally got a decent adams driver with an xtra stiff fujikara shaft, but now im thinking i need more shaft length. Boy was there a difference when i hit the adams instead of the kmart club. I can hit them right where i wanted. I never realized how much those shafts twist causing left and right hits. Going to try out again for regionals soon near me, hopefully ill do better than 315 this time. Thanks again Dobbs

  • @DBO551 hey dude I have a question.....for some reason with some drivers say like a Nike sumo 5000 I hit 270...but with other drivers like a taylormade burner which seems to have a flexier shaft and it is stiff (same as the nike) I hit above 300....So does it have to do with shafts or dif clubs...what gives?

  • @mikepownzall Great question! It's both! Lesson 1, just because a shaft says R or S or whatever; doesn't necessarily mean that's what it is. Different companies have different regs for what their R or S shaft is. The best thing you can do is go to a pro club fitter; take both clubs with you and hit them both on a launch monitor to see what exactly the difference is. From my own personal testing, Nike makes 1 of the highest spinning heads around. Spin as it relates to distance is the enemy!

  • @DBO551 wow.....I was at a demo day and they said I was spinning the ball to much with some nike drivers.....thanks man.......and does loft affect the spin that much because the nike I have is 9.5 and the taylormade I have is 10.5......personally I like the 8.5 and some pros say I should get a driver that loft.....

I would but Im 14 so My job as a caddy is really saving for a car at this moment lol

    but thank you again

  • @DBO551 how much would a pro club fitter generally cost? Idk ...wondering if you might know

  • @DBO551

I just wanted to know why don't you come back to the

RE/MAX WLDC 2009 like you said in the 2008?

Or you not qualified or something?

I looking forward for the upcoming 2010 RE/MAX from you!

  • what was the ball speed?
