Apparently you haven't done your research yet, Cadillac did have air bags in 1974. I agree you can drive a Mercedes for 35 years making it a "work horse" way more expensive for that label though - my aunt paid $7500 for a transmission on an S500 when it was 5 years old. I love my old Cadillacs but, as for the new ones they are HIDEOUS JUNK!!! GM has screwed themselves by screwing their customer, not to mention everything looks like a european jellybean. What makes a Mercedes Luxurious?

Mazda is Japaneese, and Jag is British. No hate though, I like both too! My favorite though is Mercedes Benz and Volvo. I've had many of both. I currently own a Volvo 240 and A W220 S500. Great wonderful cars with sheer class. Cars that will stand the test of time. Something American cars can't do.

During the war period and for a decade after Mercedes was in serious financial difficulties and did not introduce any significant innovation. In the early post war period Mercedes were sold in the US by Studebaker, a dieing brand. German car manufacturers had restrictions in what they could produce. BMW wasn`t up in its feet before the 70s.

look it happens i had VW Passat 2006. in 130 000km it had unbelivable 49 visits to the mechanic, had to change the entire computer once, front suspension, cylinder broke, engine got cracks.... a friend bought same car at the same dealer maybe a week later - not a single breakdown.... it just a matter of you're luck with it and how you drive it.
