Premarital has actually gone down a bit, but peaked in the late 70s and 80s. Its enormously dependant on what part of the country you live in, Northern California for example i saw a statistic that said only 5% did not have sex before marriage- but in Colorado it was over 80%. Janie even said that "literally everyone wore purity rings in her high school". I live in Ohio and its really dependant on the proximity to the city.

It is not 'immoral' to have premarital sex. It is against your beliefs. And my moral compass (which states that killing, hatred and general rudeness are immoral, and that treating people well and not judging them is moral seems to be just fine).

Just because we disagree doesn't mean you are better than me (or the reverse), it just means that you have made a choice to wait until marriage, and well, I do not wait for marriage, as I can't get married, and probably won't.

We all make/pass judgments about others' social behaviors. Then we decide to lead, follow, or invent our own behavioral patterns. The fact *remains* that "virginity" has more sensual value. A pro-active individual can learn to have excellent post-marital sex. It's called education.

"Judge not, that you be not judged." Matthew 7:1. It's not the place of any person to judge the morality of anyone else. Ideally everyone would wait until marriage to have sex, but it's not like that. Sex feels good and it's easy to fall in love with someone and believe you'll be together forever. Don't say people are immoral for having premarital sex.

I stumbled across the New York Times Magazine article of Janie Fredell's inspirational stand on pre-marital sex. At first I thought this young lady is an amazing role model and a pillar of strength...now seeing this video I'm kind of confused....why is there a cut at the 1:51 mark when she says that oral sex is not sex and then when it resumes she then says it's disgusting and disrespectful?? I would be really disappointed if she thought oral sex was not sex.The world is a sick place these days.
