My partner had a blow-out at 75mph(125kph) on the A1(M) motorway recently. A front tyre in a rear-wheel drive Mazda MX-5. She felt a mild judder on the steering wheel, pulled over, and was on the phone to ask for advice when she suddenly shouted "Oh crap, where's my tyre?!?!". Obviously there's no real corners on a motorway, and I am very grateful she was lucky. Could have been much worse. The tyre had a slow puncture the week before; we were planning to change it. Drive safe, check your tyres!
