you might check your local basalt rock quarry for large spalls, try mounting a large one in a split piece of willow and tie with willow bark to make a large two man spall saw, bend the tree way over and stand on before sawing... i'm glad inspired some one with a video ....thanks
@LivingHistorySchool Thank you! Thats a good idea. This hunting season, waaaay up on a hilltop on Weyerhauser forest land, i found a real good roadcut where I got my basalt from. It is only open during hunting season so we will be making a trip back up there very soon to gather some more. I broke up my last piece the other day.
