Mike, I just got a smart panel.(Video soon) You have to hit the program button twice to put the opener in learn mode, and it does turn on the learn LED.
@sms373 It was sitting on the shelf at my dealers place, he said i could take it. I didn't have to pay :) But, just look online, and type in 79LM. there are some places that still DO sell it.
for my grammas i tested it but when i was putting up to opener the garage door with the opener then i tryed opening it by hand then it worked with the opener my mom said i break it because i play with it alot

I have never had a real problem hooking up more buttons with my smart control panel...I have the smart control panel, a 58lm, and a raynor button (78lm equivalent), and a commercial button. The only problem, but it doesn't bother me is that the leds on the 58 and 78lm do not glow steady, but flicker a little bit, and the light and lock buttons don't work, but those functions do work on the smart panel. I would like to see how many buttons can be hooked up before nothing works at all lol.
You can program the remote from the smart panel both ways the conventional way and the way useing the program button. Nicks panel is exactly like yours.
nive video mike as usual, just fix the call and put the wire in channeling iand i can honestly say that garage is perfect,its good but could be better, also ,get on skype, i learned a way to get the leg to burn bright on two wall panels, ud liketoknow

You can program the remote from the smart panel both ways the conventional way and the way useing the program button. Nicks panel is exactly like yours.
