  • This is a great start.But inclusion should start in the home Please can we have the recommendations of the Bristol study into DFGs to adapt homes fully implemented. The benefits of respite care are limited if parents are left to cope alone the rest of the time because the caring they do is outside health and safety limits (e.g. carrying a nine year old child upstairs.Until the mandatory grant covers the cost of the work all children will not get the homes they need

  • To name and shame I despair that my local council (Hounslow) will ever seek parental input into services in any meaningful way. Ten years of trying to engage on their terms gives rise to my user name.

    I would welcome more info on the Parents Forum announcement. Hopefully it contains some fairly prescriptive good practice guidance.
