@jakesaintsrow123 I used to like the Dynasty when I was a kid, but seeing the two side-by-side now, the Celebrity did have a better look, despite being similar. Something about it flows better and it looks less boxy.
@MaestroTJS Somehow I LOVE Older Boxy cars. I Loved these Cars, I Liked Dynasty's but They were more Plain And non Desrcript looking than the celebrity (If that even makes sense) lol . I Have a 1987 Chevy nova And Yea plain Looking I Do LOVE It.
@alanisgirl2010 We had a 1983 Celebrity and that car was the best!!!! We only had one unexpected mechanical problem (The alternator). Other than that, the car ran damn near perfectly!!!!
And, even then, alternators can and do fail at times when you least expect it on any car, so it's not really an issue that would reflect badly on your Celebrity so long as it didn't occur too often.
LOL, the front clip of the earliest Chevy Celebritys looked like an old Lady with huge reading glasses. Man these things rusted like their was no tomorrow.
my grandpa bought one of these new when I was 7 it was a 85 eurosport!!!!!!He traded in his 81 citation on it. The eurosport was all black wih red pin striping and lettering. What was funny though it only came with the old 2.5 4cyl ''the iron duke'' which wasn't a bad thing this car was pretty dependable it just wasn't quick by any means.I remember my brother and sister going ape shit about this car.LOL! times have changed
I bought a re-built 1988 Celebrity & drove it for about 5 yrs. It was great in the snow/ice and it was my first front-wheel drive car. I remember feeling almost fearless in the winter as rear-wheel drive cars fishtail all over the road. I'd never own a rear-wheel drive car again. I still see some of these over 20-yr. old cars on the road but most are extremely rusted out. I traded mine when it got so I didn't trust driving it for long distances but it was a good car.
Compare the celebrity to the fairmont, its actual competition, and it was more aerodymnamic and efficient. The Lumina replaced the clebrity to compete with the taurus.
I know what you're saying but in the video of that 1986 Chevy Celebrity that has blue vinyl interior, it sounded more like the buzzer in the 1980 Chevy Impala and the scary buzzer from a 1985 Chevy Custom Deluxe pickup truck.
Dammit Jack2Mac. I knew many people that had these cars and I had an 85 celebrity myself. Here's the lowdown:82-84 models used a buzzer, most 85-86 used a tone,87-90 all used a tone. No celebrity ever used a chime.
A COMPLETE PILE OF SHIT.

Man, there were a lot of these on the road back in the '80's.
Nice shape to it, I think. Chrysler must have ripped off this design for its late-'80's cars like the Dynasty, etc.

@MaestroTJS I Loved these to. I Liked Dynasty but I Think the Celebrity Looked MUCH Better than the Dynasty

Oh yeah, very aerodynamic. The '86 Taurus made this car look 20 years old.

@ajp9478 The Lumina was ugly and not nearly as plush or crisp and clean looking as Celebrity!

That rectangle is aerodynamic! damn those 1980's and their weird geometry.

@albear972 I would take square over the bubble car look of the 1990's.

Are you very sure about that since I have seen a video of a user starting his 1986 Chevy Celebrity and it still uses the scary buzzer?

Meanwhile its cousin the Pontiac 6000 from 1982-1990 used a chime rather than a buzzer.
Jac2Mac 2 years ago
The "buzzer" would be a solid tone rather than a buzz.
The tone may be the same note as the chime, but instead of chiming, it's a solid tone.
