well in Alaska you dont have to have a you dont have to have a piece of papaer saying that you can carry around a concealled weapon, we can carry aorund a concealeed waepon anytime we want, hahaha but with the exception of in a bar, a place where they serve alchol and on military bases, but if we do get permisson from this state to conceal a weapon it is good in 30 or 38 different states, so it is a good thing if the people in alaska get permission to carry a concealled weapon
You can carry multiple guns, but they must be concealed. I know people who do it all the time. One is usually a standard compact such as a Glock 19 and the other a BUG (Back up gun) carried in the pocket.
That depends on where you live. In Arizona it is perfectly legal to carry a gun without a permit of any kind, as long as you have it visibly out in the open. And as far as I know, there is no limit to how many guns you may carry, CC permit or no.
If you can legally carry one gun for self defense in your state you can probably carry two. Look up your local laws on where and when you can legally carry a handgun. Each state (and sometimes each city) is different.
remember velocity is squared....its better to have speed than mass bro...therefore 9mm will have alot more knocking down energy....why do you think the rest of the world uses 9mm ?
I myslef own a 9mm beretta abd just recently bought a .45 witness P-carry, and I have crimson trace laser grips and shoot both 5 inch groups at 25 yrds, but just recently shot into a gelatin dummy at my range that a bunch on state police and F.B.I. agents were shooting at to test their black talon ammo, and the results I seen between the 2 were amazing. Sure a 9 can kill or stop a person, but if you can be as accurate with a .45 USE IT!The deal is done when hit with a .45 no questions asked!
I counted 14 rounds U use 2 mags that fast??? and all U morons arguing bout .45 is more powerful Wah, Wah, no, actually the 9mm will go thru more barrier, armor, or tissue than the .45 and has more physical energy and yes, the 9mm is smaller, but that doesn't make the .45 a 1-shot in the foot kill ;) either will kill just fine if the shooter does his/her part, as I've said b4 its better 2 geta headshot wiha .22 LR than miss witha .50 BMG.......
bullets in general are deisgned to fk u up. practice makes purfect.
caliber preferance would be justified by the ammount of damage u want to cause, .22 will stop u, 9mm +P+ball will make u swiss cheese, a .45 HP will leave craters in u, .357 will sever limbs, and crazy shit like .500S&W will staight up break u.
i shoot Glock 34 9mm for comp sports in Australia. over here ur intruders are funnel webs, red backs, shite tails, centipedes, brown snake, red bellied black snake etc.
fist off RELIABLE GUN then 9mm+P+ ball will fill the attacker with hot lead, .45ACP HP will leave craters with massive internal trauma, Magnum loads will make his head explodeb and sever limbs. a .500caliber handgun will probably blow the attacker in half VERTICALLY or some crazy shit.
goda take into account if the attacker will be a guy who weighs 350kg and has an axe/ some guy who just smoked crack or ice and is now invincible/ 50 cent/ zombies.
9mm Parabellum- parabellum means "If you seek peace, prepare for war"
so 9mm was designed to kill u dead. but if the guy who broke in ur house has just smoked up a fistfull of crack a 9 will only piss him off. as we all know, cocaine makes u almost invinsible SO, u REALY DO need the likes of a .45ACP or .357 Mag.
practice ultimately makes perfect.
9mm +P+ ball will put holes through him,.45 will leave craters in him, Magnum rounds will blow his head up/remove limbs. i shoot G34
The most proven rounds for handguns are as follows:
.38 Special
.357 Magnum
9mm
.40
.45 ACP
With the exception of the .40 and .357 all of them have won their share of gunfights in the past 100+ years and still around since 1902 for the .38 special and 9mm, and 1911 for the .45 ACP for one reason, they work and work reasonably well. But one thing to remember, all handgun rounds save .44 Magnum on up are underpowered and can't guarantee stopping power unlike a shotgun or a rifle
i agree, they logic behin the 9mm "not haveing good stoping power" is that with a fmj it has limited energy transfer and a small slug and in a heated fire fight when the adrenalin is flowing it may not put a man down
but power or not with a 115 grain piece of lead in ur chest ur not going anywere fast
The .45 ACP definitely has more stopping power. But if I put 2 in your head and 1 in your heart, it really doesn't matter what caliber I'm using. I could use a .22 and you still wouldn't be getting back up.
I agree.anything beats a poke with a rusty stick when your lives in danger!Futher more,a good 9mm jhp round(ie:gold dots, rangers)have around the same expansion as a round nose .45 auto round which is what you would carry in a 1911.
Ohh,one more thing to add.Save your watermelons. They do not have any similarity to flesh and bone. The best use for one is to cut a hole in the side, fill with jack daniels, put in fridge over night and enjoy,mmm...
Anyone who claims the 9mm is insufficient for personal protection is an idiot. Let me shoot you with a 9mm and then you can express your opinion. Do you really think an attacker will know (or care) whether you use a 9mm, .40 or .45?
Actually a 9mm is a good weapon for self defence it is a smaller more controlable round. The 9mm is more accurate then the .45 but the 9mm tends to overpenetrate, I prefer the 45. instant stopping power and what ever u hit will go and stay down.
Definitely true, 9mm carries a good amount of force, but to stop a big guy, you might need some fairly good accuracy, whereas a 45 gives you a little more power, and a little more confidence.
I could not agree with you more, ericandamanda338. The people who claim the 9mm is insufficient have not been in real combat and have not had the chance to really test one. The 9mm is by no means a .45 acp, but it is a very good fit for it's purpose. Let this little note be a lesson to all who doubt the potency of a 9mm round. Or better yet, test one on yourself, and send me pics. Thanks.
As personal protection an 9mm should be enough, as I don't think too many people live in a warzone or something close to it... most people don't even need guns.
yeah the 9mm punches clear through, the .45 is bigger, and subsonic, so it tumbles when it hits causing greater damage and stopping power. id pack .45 all the way.
If you want a slower 9mm, get some of the 158 grain loads. While a 147 grain is still subsonic, the 158 rounds are so slow you can see them make their way to the target pretty easily. Shooting them out of my carbine is nearly like shooting a paintball gun; the sights are no good, but just adjust fire from where you saw the last shot go.
That's from a 16" barrel, I'd wonder how slow they'd be from a 4" or less barrel.
with full metal jacket ammo, maybe so. Hollow points however, totally different story. Get some 9mm, Federal Hyrda-Shoks 124 grain +P and fire it from a gun made for +P ammo, namely a Beretta 92FS, Browning Hi Power made in 1985 or later would say Portugal on the slide, any S&W 3rd generation auto, example 5906, any Ruger P series or the new Ruger 9mm that just came out, any Glock, Walther P99s, etc. and it will not matter if its a .45 or not. Federal Hydra Shoks are expensive, but worth it.
One of the most pointless videos ive ever seen.

true! its the FMJ that limits because of that dumbass treaty that band expanding bullets. a 9mm JHP produces a much better wound than the fmj

definitely? You've obviously never seen the damage done from a 147 grain Hydrashock round in 9mm or 124 +P JHP round.
Maybe if you stopped being an armchair quarterback and actually got out and shot a few rounds you'd know.

9mm's should only be saved for Carbines and mp5s worst handgun caliber. 45s are way better!
9mms are very fast and just go through the target
a 45 has a higher stopping power cause it goes at a slower rate but still goes fast enough. and way more fun to shoot!
