  • Dear Dan Seals Fans:I'm asking that you would post any songs you have from Dan Seals first solo album from 1980, named: England Dan Stones Please post, as many places are asking hundreds of dollars for one CD! That is shameful and wrong! So, please, in Dan's honor, post those great songs! Thank you! Peace, BobbyK

  • This is one of those deeply moving songs that moves something deep in your soul! Listen carefully to the words! I have wept like a baby to this song a few times! Peace and Love, BobbyK I also love Beth Neilson Chapman on the background vocals! Awesome song by the great Dan Seals! I miss him so very much!

  • WHAT AN AMAZING SONG!!!

  • I don't remember any of Dan's stuff except Bop. I thought I would know more.

  • I used to get some of the best coke from a border agent...good ol usa

  • THIS IS WACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No politics, no bs. He had a wonderful voice and a true and gentle heart. Rest in peace Dan. Know you were loved.

  • Mexicans grow drugs in our National Forests, and litter on American ranches, and murder American homeowners. And their president has the gall to come here as a guest and bitch about their "rights".

  • rest in peace dan. thanks for the sons. ill keep listening to them

  • Our borders lol. Nearly everyone living in the US, legally or not, is the descendant of someone who came here from somewhere else.

I have trouble coming to terms with a singer who sang one of my favorite country songs ever (They Rage On) would in later years be so close minded. Not saying illegal immigration is a good thing, but America (as you see it now) was built by immigrants and their descendants. Don't lose sight of that, xenophobic thoughts make you come across as Nazi hypocrites.

  • @marchky: The definition of illegal is as follows:

Illegal, or unlawful, is used to describe something that is prohibited or not authorized by law. The definition of immigrant is as follows: : one that immigrates: as a : a person who comes to a country to take up permanent residence. Legal is defined as the following: To be in accordance with a system of rules enforced through a set of institutions. Our forefathers came here legally as the native Indians had not laws concerning immigration.

  • @marchky Pretty sure you're misinterpreting the song if you think the message is close-mindedness. The consensus opinion is that this song embraces immigration.

  • @amartinez0329 = And who do you suppose is gonna build that wall? Have you forgotten Martinez is a hispanic last name? Furthermore many anglos came here "illegally" in the eyes of the Indian ..

  • @marchky I am glad that you have seen a George Lopez Stand Up. I am Filipino so if you know your history the Spaniards raped our women just as they did your ancestors (I am assuming you are Hispanic). 2nd the fence is going to be High Tech therefore Mexicans are not a candidate since I will be skilled labor that they need. Anglos are not illegal aliens because the Indians did not have a system of laws set up as we do today.

  • @amartinez0329 - I am not Hispanic but do speak spanish. I am aware of the history of the Phillipines, much more so than some pinoys and pinays I have known over the years. There are plenty of highly skilled Mexicans - one shouldn't generalise because Pepe is working at Tyson or Maria is a maid that it applies to them all.

  • @marchky Some of them are really good at airbrushing cars, and cobbling boots but I still don't care for them.

  • @marchky @amartinez0329 The Native American Indians had no idea what immigration was at that time so they could not see Anglo Saxons as illegal. On February 2, 1848, The Treaty of Guadeloupe Hidalgo was signed, later to be ratified by both the U.S. and Mexican Congresses. The treaty called for the annexation of the northern portions of Mexico to the United States, the U.S. paid $15 million to Mexico for the territory. The war cost $100 million, and 13,780 U.S. military personnel. get it right

  • His ballds live on God rest you Dan

  • a tear in my eye

  • Gone too soon !!!

You will always be in our minds, our hearts !!!

    RIP.

  • country music is what Dan Seals has given us, it spells out the human situation good or bad, not the necessarily the bill of goods thats being marketed today. Where have all of the real troubadors gone, we miss you Dan...

  • We really miss him !!!

  • Is Jennifer Warnes singing back up on this song?

  • thanks for sharing your talent with us

  • excelente canción

    buen video y buena voz

  • I grew to love CW music when Dan Seals sang it. He was a special artist - something poured out of him that touched my heart. Sorry he's gone too soon.

  • RIP you'll be missed, but you leave so many great songs from the heart. Thank you.

  • RIP Dan, we will miss you

  • Mr Seals was one of my favorite singers. I began following him when his name was England Dan. I got to see him when he was getting started and then as a great solo artist. A few years ago my wife and I saw him when he reunited with his brother and became part of the Seals Brothers. I have his music and the concert memories. Thank-you Dan for sharing them and allowing me to be a part of your musical journey which ended to soon.

    God Bless you

  • ....As under-appreciated as his message, under-appreciated was his music , until it's gone. Maybe now, those of us that would normally throw stones will instead give homage to one of the greatest musician legends of our day. And instead, be grateful of what we had, and always we will be....

  • I can't understand why this debate is raging. Who cares? This song is about mercy, about the conflict between Law and Love, which often happens... Which of us whould choose which path? How do you know until it happens?

It's a great song, and it came from a great Heart.God bless you, Dan...

  • I care. Got it? Got it there, PTCello? Maybe, you should just go and twittle your fingers, or whatever you do or are you that coordinated? . :) I don't care what path you take . Really!! I'm baaaaack!!!!....:)

Sorry to hear about Dan's passing.....

  • You raise an interesting point, one which really reveals defines the difference between liberals and conservatives.

A conservative sees mercy as an inherently personal trait, one to be extended by people at their own personal expense. Mercy applied by government officials is seen as antithetical to justice, since you are being merciful at the expense of others.

True compassion would have moved the guard to actually help the girl on his own time, rather than refusing to do his duty.

  • Without disagreeing, I'll add this: Justice is not good or bad, it is only justice. Mercy is, by definition, NOT "justice" because the word implies witholding deserved consequences.

In this scene, the man is allowing his personal beliefs-at least at that moment- to override his professional obligation, which is the poignant theme of the whole song.

  • You are absolutely right that justice and mercy are opposites. The two are only resolved on the cross, where Christ, in His mercy, pays the full penalty demanded by God's justice for my sin.

    Personal mercy, official justice.

I prefer songs like "They Rage On" or "Addicted", where it is hard not to identify with the struggles of the characters, and almost impossible to judge them. That's the beauty of country music, is it not?

  • I like both those songs better as well. If you have time, you might look up Paul Overstreet's music.

  • Sad news for country music fans: Daniel Wayland Seals, the Texas-born, CMA-award-winning singer who piled up 11 No. 1 songs between 1985 and 1990, passed away yesterday after a battle with mantle cell lymphoma. Initially known to pop fans as the "England Dan" half of England Dan and John Ford Coley, who had a No. 2 single in 1976 with the soft-rocking classic "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight," he went on to forge an impressive solo career in Nashville.

  • On that, we can surely agree. It is truly a sad day for country music fans- a truly, sad day.

  • @Bokcani awww that is sooo sad im young and i love this song

  • Don't talk about YOUR comments like that, Bokcani.... :) I mean to say that your comments are just a little dumb, IMO

  • is this song christian?

  • Bockani,

I was wondering if you got permission from Dan Seals to post these videos. Or, are they an illegal posting on YouTube? Please let me know, cuz I woundn't want to be breaking FEDERAL COPYRIGHT LAWS by watching your videos. I'm waiting...:)! Also, Bockani, PLEASE KEEP THOSE THUMBS DOWN COMING!! I LOOOOVE IT!!! HA HA HA HA HA AHHHHHH!!! In fact, I hereby order all you liberals to give me a thumbs down. NOW!

  • Oh, btw, I do understand what you ARE trying to do with this video. You are pimping a "bleeding heart" ideology. Nice try on your attempt to deflect your true intents/ideology , though.... :) And, "you're welcome" for my comments.... :)

  • In case you didn't realize it, this song is about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION...." It has nothing to do with the Statue of LIberty where LEGAL IMMIGRANTS pass through... Maybe, a little civics lesson would help you on that.... :)

BTW, it is no longer on my "favorites". Feel free to check again if you like.... :) I like Dan Seals, and I thought that I would like all his songs so I put it on. But, thanx for reminding me, cuz I forgot to remove it. :)

  • Thank you Bokcani, I thought that was beautiful. This song I fell in love with nearly 20 years ago. I believe I recognize one of the children in your pictures too and God I would have taken her home with me if I only could. The song is meant to be emotionally charged and whether the politics are right or wrong, it at least begins the process of a very important discourse within our democracy. So great choice, thanks again!

  • i am a country fan but i understand even though it is none of my buisness.

  • That was corny and alittle wierd.

  • who carryed signs when you invaded ? who asked you to file with imigration? who told you to leave ? who asked you to stay? Be real, hate will just bring more hate, till those cornered turn and attack.

  • It doesn't really matter in the end, except for who's on God's side and who's not.

This planet will return to the way it was supposed to be...paradise.

People will learn war no more.

And I'm not talking about the NWO/UN fake peace, but the real deal.

  • DAMN IT! why ruin a pefectly good country song(when there are so few of those to start with) with political bs!

  • hmmm... there was an image of a train in the video, and a picture of a child's Momma... thought that would be enough to keep the country fans happy:)

  • @jsnunya that is rude

  • thats where people r wrong, immigrants come in to work n they do pay taxes but cos d govt dnt understand, look at we britains, half r on welfare while its d immigrants who do d jobs we dnt want to do.they do help out.

  • what's the point of having a border, if it can't be protected. Let's just let everyone come here for a free ride, open it up to every suffering country. Let's not worry about the poverty in our own country. Let's worry about everyone else.

  • If they used this same song for immigrants suffering, would we have the same reaction from most US citizens? nuh uh

  • Its a painful issue for everyone - borders aren't natural to life. We are all interconnected. As living beings we share in all aspects - water, air, fire, earth, space. Even in spirit we share - it is the construct of the ego mind that separates and divides us. Baha'u'llah says, "So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth." Let there be light and love and peace on earth - there's enough for everyone if we share!

  • So if some one came into your yard, built a home, and started living there, used your utilities for free and didn't help you pay your property taxes you wouldn't care. Hey remember you want to share.(regardless of race or creed)

  • Bravo, Dan, you have captured the essence of the human side of this dilemma and shown once again that when we give people a chance to be noble and loving then they arise to that God-given station. --your brother Rich

  • Being an American I find it hard to believe so many people are against people seeking a better life here. Most people in America can trace their lineage to a diffrent country. Just like I don't understand trying to force our way of life on people who do not want it.

  • Our way of life? If there are so many seeking this way of life what is the problem with trying to help them get this way of life in their own country without them coming here? Is that too much to ask? If we continue to allow other people to come in here and pump our tax money and aid into helping them get an education among other things we arent solving any of our problems. Lets do away with that whole philosophy and pump that money into our own citizens to help them develop

  • It does seem major-league hypocritical, doesn't it? I'm for streamlining and reducing the cost of the process to come here legally so that they're not waiting for years while USCIS drags its feet or too poor to even get that far. Some of that money we're blowing in Iraq could help with it...

  • Whats the good of protecting the border if the US President is doing everything he can to encourage the illegals to keep on coming?

  • Excelente canción de Dan Seals, sensibilizó mi corazón de principio a fin. Por favor si alguien tuviera la canción y video de Dan Seals llamado "SAN ANTONE".

  • Lets keep this land OURS!! Protect our border and keep it up Border Patrol!!!

  • border patrol is a joke. immigrants from the mexican border come here and cause millions of tax dollars but the war is causing TRILLIONS in debt. do you have a calculator?

  • Great job indeed!!

  • This is great! "Bordertown" was actually released as a single, but Dan was on the verge of leaving Capitol Records at the time. You did a great job with this.
