Akuma (Gouki) is the brother of Ryu and Ken's late master: Gouken. Gouken and Akuma's master was called Goutetsu and tried to stop Gouki form using the dark hadou by battling him, Gouki killed Goutestsu using the Satsui no hado (dark hado), out of anger Gouken fought Gouki who later changed his name to Akuma to show his disconnection from his ''weak'' brother. Akuma again used the satsui no hado and murdered his brother Gouken.

Props to the old master for stepping up to Gouki. Old dude thought he was up to the task, but got wrecked in the end. The shot of him after the explosion was rough.

I saw this movie years ago. I don't see why this wouldn't have canon. Some of the story yes, but even in the alpha film ryu had a standing rivalry with Akuma just like in this one. It makes perfect sense to believe ryu is his son

Does anybody know where I can download this movie with the original Japanese voices and English subs? There's a Japanese one of this on youtube, but the subs are in German and allthough I can read it, I'd rather have English subs..

@XaeeD This is the original animation. The English dub of Generations came out first. Then the Japanese dub was released later.

the original SFII even went further than the later versions if i remember it right.
but its still not in the gameplay itself.
some people want too see a MK VS SF game because then there would be blood and gore. (unlike the MK vs DC game)
i highly doubt it. i think Midway will have too tone it down even more. an SF game with the words ''Fatality''? or even ''Finish him'' when Ryu wins?

my biggest problem with MK vs Dc is the lack off content.
and i even got another surprise. it seems you can only play the storymode once every save game, whats that about?!

What you said it true but to clear it up Gouki is the father. It explains it at the end. Gouken gave baby ryu to the old man and made him promise not to follow his father path. In other words, not to become like his father Gouki with the dark hadou.

Yes I know that why Gouken yelled at gouki saying after gouki killed master "Why would you do something like this your happiness was within your reach". In other words Gouki was about to be a father and have a family. But he threw that all away for the love of power. And Gouki does love Sayaka that why he had an image of her after the fight of ryu.
