I have to ask, is this soldier creek side? I have a few spots I fish at a lot if you want to share info I would LOVE to. Awesome, awesome cut by the way, looks like he had a bit of a hook jaw.

If you are careful you can just grab them by the gill plate. On big fish like that there is plenty of room for your fingers without touching the gills. It works great. Really nice fish.
What a nice fish. I'm thinking of making a trip to Utah to catch some Bonneville Cutts. That is what that is correct? I've heard Big Bear Lake is loaded with them too? I'm a cutthroat fan, I live in Reno and my biggest is a 10 pound 6 ounce Lahontan out of Pyramid. How big do those Bonnevilles get? Nice fish! Any info would be great.
Yes, they are Bonneville cutts. The fishing is pretty hot in the fall, at lease that's the only time we have had luck catching them on flies. I did hear the other day that a guy pulled an 11 pounder out of the ice... I have never fished Bear Lake.

Nice cutt! However your handling of fish and the duration of time kept out of water has something to be desired...
Pls keep in mind how much latic acid has built up after such a lenghty fight.
Again, great fish!
