They don't add the station number in because this newscast is also broadcast on two other Fox affiliate stations in Yakima and the Tri-Cities.

Well NBC in San Diego is broadcasted on Channel 7 and broadcasted on Channel 39 on the air, and they added both channels on their logo. Why can't they work something out here?

Well, KNSD NBC 7/39 is broadcasted on CABLE channel 7, ANALOG channel 39 and DIGITAL channel 40. That's the reason why. Self-explanatory, eh?

Well there's many channels in San Diego market that incorporate both their channels into their logos/news affiliate. KUSI 9/51 NBC 7/39 and FOX 5/69

Well there would actually be three 2-digit numbers which would clutter the screen terribly. FOX 28/11/41 would look pretty ridiculous.

Well, they can add the channel which covers the most significant distance or the major city out of the vincinity. Not that hard to do.
