  • I was a little bit shocked by Anthony's grey hair. I know his performance with Michel Camilo in New York, but forgot that was from '95. I have so much respect for this man.

  • I saw her, Jackson, and Simon Phillips at the newport jazz fest today. Un.fucking.believable. Stole the show, best act of the weekend. The crowd was going nuts, I thought I was at a rock show. The energy was so palpable. She will be my future wife.

Having said all that, I really want to see her with her SonicBloom band.

  • video del momento meno significativo -.-

  • Short, but sweet! Awesome footage of the fantastic Steve Smith, his kit might only be a fraction of the size of her other drummers, but he makes up for it with HOT CHOP! He is one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, not like that pretentious Jimmy Page.

  • As much as it was awesome to see Anthony Jackson on Bass (I just Love all the Di Meola stuff he has done).. and Steve Smith as seen here was all over... I wish too see Hiromi back with Sonic Bloom Project hopefully next time.... 1st time I seen her solo piano show :D, 2nd time w/ Stanley Clarke Band , 3rd this Trio .. But I love the DVDs with SonicBloom I sure hope they tour again someday soon.. I'd really love to see Dave "Fuze", Tony Grey would be sweet!!!!!! :D

  • @countsmokula I am still so angry with myself because I had the chance to see them and did not go in 2008 or so.

  • I wish it was Simon Phillips instead. I thought he was on the tour as well.

  • @stickstam Phillips was on the album & the first few dates on the east coast but then had to go play with Toto since he's a full-time member of that lame-ass band. Steve Smith is one of the greatest drummers in history & Anthony Jackson likewise on electric bass but Martin Valihora & Tony Grey were the absolute perfect fit for Hiromi & one she should always return to.

  • @metamorphosis67 I like but don't love Steve Smith, he's got great skills, but something is missing, I have seen him a couple of times, much prefer Phillips, Weckl for this style of music. I thought Phillips was phenomenal on the Voice album and look forward to seeing him on the fall tour.He tours with TOTO because they pay big bucks.

  • @stickstam As a drummer Phillips was great from the time of 801 Live on when he was just 19 years old. However, most of the time he picks terrible projects or at least mediocre projects that pay good & are way beneath his abilities & talent. Toto pays decent over-the-hill-has-beens bucks but it's actually a compromise between good players & popularity. The Hiromi date is actually one of his few great records in his career that he's been involved in.

  • @metamorphosis67 I find Jackson and Phillips match better with Hiromi's skills and subtleness, i have heard some tracks with Grey and Valihora, while they are skilled they lack something in their emotional expression IMHO.....but its prob also a matter of taste.
