  • I think I may have recently aquired the balmung knive from the set of 3 were 25 sets where made. It is stamped Murphy on the bottom of the handle and that is the only stamp on the knive. Could you please let me know if this is a knive you would like to have. I have been leading of the history behind it. Very interesting.

  • cool :D

  • Gerber for life. I do own one Kershaw that I love but I am Gerber all the way. They did something for me in the early 90s that was above and beyond. I have used their multi tools exclusively for over 20 years. The LMF has just came down in price enough to become a part of my collection

  • I like certain Gerber knives and use them regularly for hunting, fishing, and camping. I only will buy Gerber's USA made knives though. I sure wish that Gerber would have more of it's production being manufactured here in the USA though. Not many models being made here anymore I suppose that Fiskars is to blame for that. I also see a lot of new Fiskars stuff now being made in China.

  • Good Bloke !

  • this guy is so knowledgeable. great stuff

  • can anyone estimate the worth of the knife at 0:38?

  • @itzrandz since you never got an answer, 100 dollars

  • thanks for showing this film, great history

  • Thank you!

  • did gerber get the goverment contract from benchmade?...

  • Thanks for documenting this collector for us.

  • Hi lastmiles-

Thanks for your comments. yeah, Phil has obviously put a lot of time and effort into his interest in Gerber. I cannot wait to see his book when it comes out.

  • It is so excellent and refreshing to hear from someone that really knows the topic and he knows the people involved. This is great information in that it is quality information. I would make a guess that the first year production Gerber is in the neighborhood of $3500 USD to a collector. The one in this video has some wear and tear on it and thus I would guess $2000 is a very safe estimate.
