LEDS ARE GREAT! I use one 18 watt led with 23 watts CFL, total of 41 watts this is enough for ten clones. Little heat and plants are nice and thick (been using this set up for a year). When I find LEDS that are about 300 watts and wont cost hundreds maybe up to one thousand dollars,, then I wont use them to flower. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the price goes down and the light intensity goes up. Til then I'll wait.
for the dude that said hps would be better doesnt pay his electrict bill led's are strong i kno about them before people started growing with them because they sell strips of actinic,blue,and white for salt water tanks and even a single 2watt bulb blinds you i havent grown with them but i kno they would kick ass and with a couple cfl cheap but sweet
why mix it tho u seen this small yield and its week 9 i had bigger buds on week 3 with all cfl, maybe its just me, but everyone grows so differntly its hard for the strains to keep up with our methods

yea thats true even with cfl the bill goes up a lil bit but not alot, only during veg i noticed like a 15$ rise in cost, but yea a HPS is very expensive to run, so i stay away from those, but i got a fairly small set up, and imma run just the 23wt(100wt) blue spec for veg and swap over to 65wt reds(300wt) for flower, but the ones i found dont need a ballast and put out 3600lumens so imma use 2 of them and 1 100wt for a total of 10400lumens so my buds should be pretty fat i hope

i think the biggest benifit to the led is that police typically look for a spike in electric use and 60 watts is nothing compared to hps 1000 whatt bulbs smaller plants for smaller risk cost\bennifit

The police pay electric company employees to report those unnatural spikes in electricity consumption.
They get something like 20$ per plant seized, so that is a huge incentive to someone who may not be making much money at an electric company.
the fluorescent T5 series has enough lumins to grow a good plant and still keep your electric bill down while generating little heat =D
