Actually I was awake the whole I seem to remember 6 of the 8 years being pretty good. I seem to remember full employment, high consumer confidence and a stock market over 14,000. Pretty amazing how quickly things fell apart when democrats took control of the house and senate in early 2007 isn't it?

History: every 10-15 yrs from 1789-1929 we had massive banking panics until we got Glass-Steagal & other regulation... then more than 50 yrs of unprecedented growth, full employment--the golden age of the middle class...until the Reagan & his unholy aliance take charge... now, we got a few filthy rich & everybody else dirt poor.
