I love taking care of people and I really like working as a CNA for the most part but my parents put me down and I always feel I have no where to turn.
hey Heather, I am having such a difficult time through nursing school. I just started this semester and I have worked as a CNA over the last summer. I keep asking myself if this is what I really want to go into because I just don't feel I'm good enough and I feel that so far nursing hasn't been very interesting. I have very little family support and really no friends except my bf. What would be your advice to me? Ive been terribly depressed and unmotivated most of the time.

I hear you. I got into the program at 30 y/o, a guy new to all of it, struggled through the first 2 semesters before realizing the disparity of neglecting self-care, healthy coping, and an actual support system. Anyhow, I have pedi, OB, and critical care coming up in a few weeks, and I want this semester to be different. Thanks for the encouraging, it is always appreciated.

@TheEculp Awesome!! Do whatever you have to and follow your dream of being a nurse. Sometimes it takes patience, but you will get there if you don't give up. =)

@2kayls2 I try to be. I love nursing too. This world can be crazy. Some patients will be cracking jokes with me and I respond by saying, "you have a great attitude." and they say, "it's important to keep your sense of humor even through the rough times."
That's some story. So inspiring!! Nursing school is hard, very hard and I always tell myself "if this doesn't kill me, then it makes me stronger"... I haven't died so far... and I'm way stronger than I used to be, in every aspect of my life. eg, I don't get "stressed out" very often...
