  • Awesome sound! Water flow a little slow but at least you bothered to cool it, wouldn't want to spoil a rebuild with an overheating engine!

  • what is the price?

  • @sergiohgjgukgy

    Its not for sale.

  • price??

  • i would not run that engine that long with such a small amount of water going through it a hose pipe is not anuff

  • My favourite engine of all time!

  • Ignition seems to be set a little too late. :-)

  • Yes thats right. It was about 30 degrees out :-o

  • @cmoes Does it perform well now? :-)

  • WHAAT?! No, don´t waste a rare Kapitän!

  • Yes its a Buick 215 design that Rover bought in the early sixties.

  • Wasnt the Pover 3.5 a Buick design? I would imagine that since Americans are the best v8 builders!

  • @Motorfordtoyota Yes, started out as the Buick 215CI alloy V8, and it wasn't very popular because it was thought too weedy for the big US cars. Rover spotting a chance bought the design rights and turned it into the Rover V8. It was over 30lbs lighter than the Rover 3 litre straight six engine yet offered better BHP & torque. It transformed the P5's performance and made its name in subsequent Rover cars.

  • Its buildt as a standard 3,5 EFI from 1987 Range Rover going into a hotrod project - Opel Kapitan from 1952.

  • Well done guys..love the sound of Rover / Buick V8 ..... what car did you uput it into?

  • sounds awesome. Ive got headers on my 3.9 with a holley truck avenger 4 bbl and a magnaflow exhaust. Oh the sweet sound of a rover V8.

  • Rebuilding this enaiges are not difficult, but a bigg job with 8 cylinders instead of 4. All the bearings are cheep to renew. A cam kit also. Good luck.

  • I'll be swapping the 3.9 from my disco into my defender soon. Should be nice once I match the ports with the headers and edelbrock manifold plus 500 webber on top. Was your reuild a big job?

  • yes, petrol burning in the pipe. First we thought it was a valve problem. The timing was not optimal. After ajusting and new plugs it now runs fine.

  • is that petrol coming out of the pipe?

  • Wather for cooling.

  • listen to a holden v8 304 best sounding v8 in the world.
