10 years before 911 I joined the Navy and this song played on my graduation day from boot camp. That day and that song made me who I am today. To have it mean so much 10 years later on 9-11-01 just instills in me the commitment I made that day, and again 20 years later I'm still in the Navy, and it brings me to my knees every time.

I was in kindergarten when 9-11 happened, but I still remember it til this day. My mom and I were the last people to get off the Air Force Base in Colorado. I was scared and didn't want to go to school, but my pricipal said that we would be ok. The whole day we stayed in our closet (which was where we went for bomb or tornado drills) and read stories. I was only five, but I memorized ALL the words to this song because of what happened. God bless the USA, the Troops, and the heroes who died.

It provided defense contractors with billions of dollars for research and employment. I was in kindergarten when 9-11 happened, but I still remember it til this day. My mom and I were the last people to get off the Air Force Base in Colorado. I was scared and didn't want to go to school, but my pricipal said that we would be ok. The whole day we stayed in our closet (which was where we went for bomb or tornado drills) and read stories. LOL-the first responders were barred from the memorial by Mayor Bloomburg, yeah, I'm real proud to be an American. Oh, but we don't want to talk about that. We just want to wave our flag and hands in the air and feel good. Meanwhile we're torturing in Guantanamo and other black sites and the national policy now entails giving everything to Goldman Sachs. Yup, real proud to be an American all right.

i was 5 when it happened so i dont remember much but being scared and now 10 years later the man responceible is dead and i cant lisen to anythig about 9/11 wit out being struck wit sadnes and anger towards the ones who did it and hopen bin laden is havein fun burning in hell wit 75 male virgins

Thank you for this tribute. Those who died belonged to all of us. I love this song, and I do believe that the victims know what our hearts are saying to them. God bless the USA, and especially all those who lost a loved one Sept. 11, 2001.
