In case that lady doesn't know, ghosts can possess a cellphone as well as the rest of other technological products. Secondly, possessing a cellphone is as 'real' as Friday the 13th's Jason dying as a child (& that movie sets the boundary for unreal). And third of all, if she only watches movie that can be 'real', then why the hell did she go watch this movie in the first place?

Anyways, this movie was so bad it's good imo. Not the worst movie ever. Watch Shutter or Pulse if you wanna know shit.

Why is it such a point for us Americans to remake Japanese horror films?? The are better in Japanese just leave it that way. Examples : Ju-On (The Grudge) Ringu [spelling??] (The Ring) and now One Missed Call. What is the world coming to?

Cellphones & ghosts can so go well with each other. There isn't anything wrong with that. People think its stupid, it's better than a ghost comin' out form a freaking laundry machine (Pulse).

Another thing if youi're a critic who only likes a "specific" horror movie, then don't bother watching a horror movie that is not your kind of horror movie, & don't bother calling yourself a critic

J-Horror in America typically tanks because of cultural differences. Japan is HUGE on cell phones and uses them more than simple calls or texting. Ghosts are universal, but they play a BIIIG role in Shinto.

Horror films are supposed to turn safe, mundane situations into paranoid chaos. A scary dream really killing you, a suburban mom killing teens for letting her son die while they had sex or a haunted house IS scary. Remaking a culture-specific subject without the same obsession DOESN'T WORK.
