I watched this and the full version over on MySpace. I'm pretty confident that it's fake blood. It doesn't look real and Conan's reaction comes across extremely staged. Fail.
I feel so bad for the reptiles. They are dangled around and rushed from handler to handler. Also, the fear projecting from Conan must have made them feel very unsafe. What price did the reptiles pay just to be shown off? Good thing some of them got a bite or two out of it.
Ya, notice when Nigel handed the Burm Python to me, it didn't poop on me or bite me. I also kept telling Nigel not to flip 'Twinkie'(the 365 pound albino retic)over, but he didn't listen. Originally, we(the cast of the Reptile Zoo)were supposed to only be on the show since we own over 8500 snakes, and 4200 lizards at the zoo. NBC brought Nigel on at the last minute because of his status.
i wonder how aware of all this Conan was, because, i mean, i realize it's part of his humour to be somewhat deprecating, but most of his jokes towards Nigel reflected on a sort of ineptitude on his part, handling the animals. almost as if to say, in a subtle/humourous way of course, "You really don't know what you're doing here, do you."
@bazurawski ppl who would go out of their way to mention their gf in a youtube comment are probably pathetic loners who have to pretend on some level they have a gf. Just saying
Not trying to burst anyones bubble, with the Komodo Dragon posting. I, unfortunately, didn't get to see the whole televised event. I wish I would've.
But, that was a Water Monitor (Varanus salvator).
Nigel Marvin is kinda wreckless, with trying to obtain publicity, for reptiles.
As an owner of 14 snakes (biggest being 18 feet and 214 pounds down to a pair of albino Cobras), public people need to be responsible with their public dealings.
This was insane. He also got bit by a slightly venomous snake a few times and a venomous python later in the show. The spider he brought out almost escaped as well. Pretty funny.
As a reptile owner, I was ashamed. What the hell was he on.
But tiny note - no such thing as a venomous python. It was just upset at being flung around, you would be too (note it tamed down the second it was passed off).
No prob. I love snakes (obv since the only two vids I've uploaded involve one, ha).
The way he was holding them was fear-inducing too, from the back like holding a cat/dog only by the hips. Of COURSE they're gonna flail and bite, you know?
Yeah. The only knowledge I have of snakes comes from Animal Planet, and even I could tell that he was holding them incorrectly. He didn't even attempt to correct himself after they were getting agitated.
its ok its just the external carotid artery

Ah, thanks for the information. I could see how this would make reptile owners in general look bad. Calling himself an expert was even worse.
