  • This doesn't have motorized faders? I'll pass.

  • I digs!

  • I'm lost, can you make a video with the console closer so we can see what are you doing

  • I have a Phonic Summit, it has a touch screen that gets rid of all that clutter and it costs less !!!

  • WHEN THEY MAKE A 40 CHANNEL ILL BUY 1.

  • @JOLEVONONDRUMS they are linkable. so you can buy a 24 and a 16 or just 2 24's and it will function the same.

  • For the price.. I have no problem not having motorized faders!!! I bought a 16.4.2. a few weeks ago and LOVE IT!!!! The easiest to use digital mixer on the market.. and it sounds great!

  • it would be nice if it was motorized mixer

  • if i use this in live gig, will i still need to use external eq's for my 4 mix monitors or it already has the eq's with it in the 16.4 version?and do i still need to use a driverack px for the my main powered speakers?and how about in the 24.4 version?thanks.

  • PRESONUS, IS WAY AHEAD OF THA GAME!!!!

  • hahaha, even Mac Fanboys come here to tell something about MACs.. yeah! Windows will let you down, that's why he is using windows to demo it, LOL.

  • @Ryoga2K computer virgin

  • Hey there!!!

I got one of these, just need to fighure out which laptop to get.,.. If you dont understand what this desk does you WILLL be a hater... I have converted a few people to respect this now hahaha...

    what laptop is that?

  • @Albigatnz - I'd Buy a Macbook Pro. Windows will let you down. I wouldn't trust windows to be able to handle 16+ inputs for recording. I own a macbook pro and its perfect.

  • is not better than a 002 how can it be? common it sucks sounds flat thin and lifeless my 85 cents !!

  • how can we use it with a computer sequencer without midi?

  • aaahh digital console...need somthing warm winter is coming

  • im a fag

  • BUT! looks like i'll need an O1v for my theatre gigs. 10 headsets alternating on stage would grant the need for moving faders...

  • Does anyone here dislike Digi Design AD/DA Converters? or is it just me... Presonus Xmax Preamp is wicked. i currently have 2x8ch firestudios, 16ch via firewire to Mac. i love it. although all the flexibilty has been put into this 16.4.2 Console. i am now considering upgrading to 2 of these consoles, both for live and recording... and YES! $4k AUD is a little steep. but i know a guy... lol

  • who's the guy?

  • he's pretty cool maybe you know him? he does good deals...

  • Factory Sound? They're all pretty cool. Was about to get dbx 166xl compressor and 1231 geq plus efx and rack to put it in. screw four castors and tow it to the gig! cause i got no room left in the car!

But this desk lokks the best option for me. As far as weight and size, will fit in the wagon.

goin to sell my mackie 1640 in road ready case and swap to one of these. who would you recommend buying from in oz?

  • Factory Sound in South Melbourne Victoria are by far the best option. purely because they are authorized dealers of Presonus gear. i've had presonus gear die on me, and their understanding is very helpful in rectifying the situation i found myself in.

Studio Live is a learning curve within itself. i would, personally, have a few weeks testing and playing with the console off gig before taking it on the road. just so that i know the "ins" and "outs" of the console :P lol

  • @goobs52 Cheers man for advice. actually visiting melb at mo and plan to go factory sound tomoz to check one out.

  • looks awesome but no midi for it to work with cubase or logic- no moving faders - will be off the market instantly- too bad

  • 16 inputs!!! i want it now

  • this is so annoying , $1999 USD but it costs $3999 in Australia .. pretty crap considering the exchange rate

  • i know the feeling its R36000-00 is South Africa ie. $4,833-00

  • i agree, current exchange rate being around .92! hopefully prices will come down in subsequent shipments.

  • Protools Sucks.

i really really really want this mixer :[

  • Bit more constructive in your feedback, why don't you like Pro Tools?

  • Maybe I can answer ....

Protools locks you into using Digidesign or M-audio hardware ... and that limits your options. Digidesign hardware is a LOT more expensive for what you can get with other brands and it really is not any better.

So, even though it does not "suck", it is something I would not personally buy.

  • Yeah I am aware of that (although some are not, it is always interesting to find out), but it is not a valid argument for why the software is bad. I am training on a few different software's at the moment, pro tools is fine.

  • i want it!!!

  • the only thing its missing is motorized faders :(

  • LOL..why do you need motorized faders..when you have to mix manually to begin with.

  • @ROSSTBLITZ

Yeah I was worried about that too..but it does tell you where the faders were...ultimately this blows away my previous mixer which had motorized faders. Takes roughly 20 seconds to your faders back.

  • Glad you like it!

  • Nice "live" mixer!!! As far as studio work goes, Digidesigns Pro Tools can not be beat. Regardless, this does seem like a very nice live piece. How, exactly will it be intragated to allow for the use of say two of them together? What date is Presonus targeting as an official release date? Thank you.

  • Pro Tools SUX!

  • Love the spelling.

  • Pro Tools SUCKS!

  • Frankly, none is better than the other..The idea is that you record analog(which all do) and edit and mix it. They all serve this process...Some are easier than others to work with , thats all. Then it's up to you plug-ins. This mixer sounds like a bargain though..I'm going to get one..Can't find anything close for the money.

  • protools sucks. Completely overrated

  • Up to four can be linked together via Firewire for 64 inputs for live SR. Two can be linked for recording 32 simultaneous tracks at 48k. There is a hardware piece that enables you to bolt two of them together, giving a "single console" feel. When you link the boards, all the busses and subgroups link as well, with the exception of the effects busses, giving two effects engines per 16 channel block. Definitely flexible for the money. Sounds good too.

  • send it to Brazil Mark !! rsrs
