for a dummy like myself, Im totally understanding what this guy is saying. I can build things ,but not always perfect like you see some dudes do it. So Im building a big shed and all his tips help alots, Thanks buddy
3/8" IS NOT A COMMON NUMBER( THE VERY FIRST THING HE DISCUSSES IN THE VIDEO) TO THE HIP DROP BECAUSE A ROOF WITH AN 18/12 AND A ROOF WITH A 4/12 PITCH WILL HAVE DIFFERENT HIP DROP DEDUCTIONS . PLUS MAKE TAIL PATTERNS OF YOUR COMMON RAFTERS AND HIP RAFTERS . IT WILL BE SO MUCH EASIER . LESS THINKING INVOLVED .
From what i read, i guess joe passed away some time ago. thats to bad i find his videos very usefull. i am doing my carpentry lvl 2 right now and his vids make it so much easier to understand. is there a hip rafter layout part 3 by chance?
i usually run them long, snap lines, and cut all the tails. it seems that they always shift on me. id love to familirize myself with your system.......love that tip as well. thanx
I am totally new to carpentry. So, I find the terms you use a little difficult to follow. It would be helpful for ple like myself if you could put a picture inlay of what u are talking about. Or take a few seconds to explain each term
