This is cool! I grew up on this trail. I started up to 1st water when I was eight YO. That was in '63. We started going up to Orchard camp when I was 12, and we'd found the old cabin just upstream, and we would hang out there. Then we started going all the way up to Mt. Wilson, and then down to Chantry Flats. We would also come down many different ways, even over to Maillard Canyon. Or to East Fork of the San Gabriel River. I hope you enjoy the trail as much as I did! Hike it often if you can!
