  • does compression usually go before or after the overdrive in the effects chain? i would think before

  • After

  • @israeliguitar cool thnks!

  • @eightequalsequalsdee I'd go with what you like tonally, both can be great... I like before cause I like to over-saturate my distortion/fuzz/overdrive. After, you can control the dynamic

  • FREE PALESTINE

  • RON JARZOMBEK!!!!

    I've Got the Runsssss

Awesome man good to see some people playing his stuff :D

    sweet job dude ;)

  • Omfg. Jarzombekkkk!

  • Good work! Shalom from the U.S.A

  • Nice...sports wanking guitar.

  • It's good to hear more guitarists mention that no reverb and compression is a good thing. Cool video!

  • Excellent 5 Stars

  • Nice idea.can you suggest maybe a chord at the intro of each piece to fill it out a bit? Thanks,Franny.

  • Tov me'od

  • Well done man. Very impressive, patient, and thorough teaching. Do more Ron Jarzombeck stuff!

  • ron jarzombek is amazing. i love that man hahahaha.

  • Some good advice here. The simple stuff like removing the reverb/compression is pretty handy. That guitar is really nice -- what is it?

  • Thanks for the comment.

    it's a Washburn N4

  • You are cool guitarist, Shiran!

  • Very cool videos and great playing!

  • barhoom is gay!! u rock israel guitar dude keep it up!!!

  • mazot ha guitara she yesh leha ahi?

    Custom nahon?

  • It's not custom. It's a Washburn N4. Nuno Bettancourt from the band Exteme signature model.

  • ???

  • LMAO

  • very nice!

  • Ron Jarzombek is a GOD!!!!

    great playing my friend!

  • What was that CD called and who by? and what was the song you were playing ?

  • I thought I was talking pretty clear...

    Ron Jarzombek

    Solitarily Speaking Of Theoretical Confinement

    I've got the runs

  • Nice lesson, I think that it is good that you make a remark about the free of effects sound in order to achieve a better auditive control for practice.

    Good Job.

    greetings from Mexico.

  • Shalom and thanks for putting this up! An off-topic question for you: Are there any big guitar manufacturing companies in Israel, or are most guitars imported?

  • There arn't any israeli brands at all, all imported of course.

There are a couple of places that make custom guitars for you. I guess you can call that a brand because they have their own logo on the guitars, :)

Some claim that they use very poor materials like wood that is normaly used to build sofas.

If people look hard enough they can find the artist to build their guitar, but it's not going to be cheap.

  • 5yrs! You are an excellent student then. What kind of pickups are in that guitar?

You speak English very well, were you taught it in school etc...?

Take care and God bless you all!!

  • Thank you for all the compliments.

    The N4 pickups are:

    * L500 Bill Lawrence® bridge pickup

    * Seymour Duncan® '59 neck pickup

In Israel, English is being taught from the third grade, although I think I owe most of my skills to Television.

Here in Israel all the English TV series from the US, UK and Australia are kept in English and only have Hebrew subtitles, unlike some countries in Europ like France, Italy and Germany that have them dubbed.

    Rock on :)

  • Shalom friend!

How long have you been playing?

  • 5 years at the time of this video

  • Great video dude :P

I'm sure I'll be using this. Thanks man.

  • i practice completely clean... its easier to hear all mistakes

  • It's important to play with clean sound as well, I agree... but not on this lick.

You want the guitar to still respond like an electric guitar and distortion\overdrive is a must to work on passive muting and play only the notes you mean.

Practis only on clean and with distortion you'll hear all sort of straying notes.

  • I totally agree.

I practise most of the time without an amp, and once amplified I sound good when playing clean but I often have these "straying notes" when soloing with distortion.

Btw, congratulations dude, it looks like you improved a lot (not that you played bad before). You're very good.

  • Certain mistakes are covered up by distortion (like clipped notes or uneven dynamics) while others are covered up by playing with a clean tone (like extra strings ringing out, and "straying notes" like israeliguitar mentioned). Practicing a lick both clean and with distortion will allow you to see "both sides," if you will, of the aspects of your playing.

  • good lesson and good job with the different angles for the camera makes it much easyer to put together when playing

  • wtf?? .. :\

  • omg what a bad sound

  • sweet nuno bettancourt model bro, great playing too!

  • bad

  • nice lesson

  • Ive only been playing for 1 month and can play hateevka. Is that how you spell it.

    Shalom.

  • Thanks:) I´ve only been playing guitar for 1 year so I´ve got soo much to learn. I´ve been working alot on soloing and scale forms "The CAGED system. So I´m a way behind on the riffing part.. I suck on fast downpicking, tipple slayer like picking and so on. I feel like my pick diggs in to the strings.. got any advise on technic? or could you post a metalriffing lesson?

Thanks again for amazing jarzombek lesson!!

    you rock!

    Kjetil

  • Good lesson:) but what page of the 8 tab pages at rob jarzombeks website is this sequence on? I don´t have the song, but I will buy the cd very soon;)

    Thanks from Norway;)

    Kjetil

  • Thank's for your comment.

Regarding your question, I thought it was obvious but anyway, it's the first page :)

  • Nice lesson bro... Very helpfully :)

  • hi, my name is eden im from israel to! i moved to australia around 4 years ago im only 13.

    great lesson

    shabat shalom

  • If you want to be able to have videos over 10mins.

    Get the directors account. =]

  • ישראלללל כמו שצריך אחיייי

  • You are my favorite guitarist on youtube beating all the other guys. You think exactly like I do as far as guitar goes. YOU ROCK. keep going and get famous. no competition your work is flawless.

  • Thank's a lot.

What you wrote really moved me.

If you can notice I only do cover versions. No originals, no improvising. I'm like a robot that only lerns things to play and that's it. That really sucks and i'm really down because of it. Started not long ago to work quite hard on improvising and theory. I think only in a few months I'll know if I can make it a profession.

    Thank's again

  • Excellent! Alternate picking isn't that hard after you use it for about a week I've found. Actually it helped out a lot when I started using it almost exclusively. I only change it for sound purposes i.e. chainsaw effect, or when sweeping. Anyway great lesson, I have something to do now....hehe.

  • I'm really happy.

  • Good lessons,thanks men

  • Yo shiranis, this really rocks!

t to listen to the 45 tracks and minutes disk you gave me!

    Go on with these videos!

    The SCD

  • Hey your'e a good tutor too .,it ws really helpful pal

  • c'mon you're a great guitar player and it's cool how you bring it to us viewers, makes it lot easier to learn it i think...and thats why you should keep posting!! and to come to my hebrew..8 years ago i was in israel in a kibbuz near haifa to celebrate a friends marriage..my aunt's name is barbara and then todaraba toda barbara appeared..

  • todaraba(!?) israelguitar for the lessons i nearly got it...its easier than it looks ;) keep posting such vidz greetings from germany

  • You are the first person that wrote that this video was useful. I'm really happy to hear that.

I don't know about making more lessons in the future. I think it's a bit pretentious as i'm learning myself and there are a million guitarist here on YouTube that are better then me.

    Thank's anyway.

By the way... how do you know Hebrew?

  • And there are a million guitarists here in YouTube who aren't better than you. It's really helpful when you teach other people what you know. Hope to see more vids!

  • Good stuff...Good ideas..you´re a great guitarist, congratulations, i really like Ron´s stuff.

  • hey great vid, do you think that if i do these exercises but i use my own picking technique that it will be as effective? because i prefer to use economy picking rather than all alternate picking

  • This will work anyway of course. These exercises should work on everything that you'll practice on no matter how you pick. Make sure that when you are looping you are playing with the picking hand the same over and over. I think it would be good if you try at least to pick how I picked. If it's less comfortable then great, work on it. :)

Try and play what's on 3:47 on the next video and you will understand what is a bursting exercise is all about. Good luck

  • i like it better when u just play :)

  • Good old Adar... Nice and honest...

  • lol! smoke reefer :]

    nice editing skills :]

  • Hi israeliguitar

Great exercise the sound and the video are very good.

    Keep posting exercise and inspiration

    Good luck!
