I was about to lose my fucking shit over what a state this all is- Then I realised, as a Westerner, I lump nearly all asian traditions into the same big pot anyway, so I guess it's expected that they can't distinguish between Irish and Scottish or English or German or Italian or what have you.
Yeah this band showed up to the Japan HIghland Games a few years back. Our band universally agrees that they sound terrible as we pracitice hard every monh.
I actually find it quite offensive, not only to the ears, but to the memory of those Gordon Highlanders who died in horrendous conditions building the Burma Railway in WW2. They would be turning in there grave if they saw this! The 2nd Batalion, the Gordons lost more men as Prisoners of War at the hands of the Japanese than they did fighting in the defense of Singapore.
Why are they on a St Patricks day parade in Japan, Ive never heard of a Japanese Ex Scots Regt pipe band on an Irish day of celebration, I wonder if Seamus murphy Hirihito was there, typical Japs taking other peoples festivals, not an original idea in there heads now
I know you posted that 10 months ago but in America they have no idea either and have Highland pipers and drummers playing tunes like scotland the Brave and Highland cathedral as well as Caledonia and try to pass it off as being Irish sorry Oirish too at St Patricks day.

They might look good, but the piper`s playing is awful! He`s not in tune. The Tokyo Pipeband can actually play well.

Spats in far better shape than some foreign bands that come to play on the Edinburgh Tattoo, keep up with your whitener and starch!
Well done!
