Both gays and straights cannot marry a person of the same sex, but both can marry a person of the oppostie sex.

People should be granted CIVIL rights despite what everyone else thinks. Interracial marriage was made legal because the federal government had to weigh in, opposing the majority!

i'm gay and i agree that a union recognised by law is great! but 'marriage' should remain a man/woman sanctity. Marriage is a man & wife thing, having kids etc, the label of 'marriage' should be exclusive to str8 couples and gay couples shouldn't be offended by this, a gay relationship IS different to a straight one, but NO less special. Thats y gay couples should get the same level of rights as become available to str8 couples but not under exactly the same principles represented by 'marriage'.
