Youtube run some sort of AGC. This track was digitally recorded at this end & studio grade microphones are in use in the workshop. However, early videos (not this one) recorded in the workshop were done on a DVD camcorder & do themselves have background noise. The recording method for each video is stated in my blurb on each video. The early recordings have and do get slowly replaced as time permits.

I'll tell you another thing YouTube do...manage to get the sound out of sync with the picture!
