  • thank you for sharing pictures of your family

  • this is a good video but get the artist straight cause that's not Celtic Thunder singing that song

  • @CelticThunderfan1 It is. Really far back, there was another band also called Celtic Thunder (they've signed a non-competition agreement with the current CT. They did loads of strictly traditional stuff.

  • @ultimafats oops my apologies love the video :)

  • love the video, i have a ton of photos of my grandmother growing up and her siblings, relatives, and parents.

  • Love the transition throughout the song with photos chronicling their life progression through the years. Brilliant..BTW, my favorite photo was of the 'ol boy using the electric knife at 3:50 ..that's a portrait of bygone Americana at its finest!

  • god, i lvoe this song

  • it sounds alot like come by the hills

  • These were the days when it didn't take 30 years to build a subway station.

  • I was sitting her enjoying the music and noticed the blogs about the other celtic thunder, the old one. If you look on Amazon for Celtic Thunder "The Light Of Other Days" you may find the music and group you wanted. My mothers family was from Ireland,Galway, but ended up in Arkansas. The Armstrong and and Lackeys. What a mixture I am, half Irish and Half German!Got the love of the Whisky and a pint from both sides! Moms cousins were on the tv and radio, The Armstrong Twins.Hillbilly Irish!

  • haha whats this some sort of gypsie tribute lol

  • What a treat to see the vintage photos matched with the video. Very enjoyable.

  • very good

  • srtrwse3se5

  • This Song is from the Original Celtic Thunder who are based out of Washington, D.C. The Author Of The Song is Terry Winch originally from the Bronx, N.Y. He formed Celtic Thunder along with his brother James "Jesse" Winch. Teryy Winch Graduated From Bishop Dubois High School in 1963. Jesse graduated from Bishop Dubois in 1960. Bishop Dubois was a Marist Brothers School located at 152st. and Amsterdam Ave. in Harlem. The School closed down in 1976.

  • This isn't CT. ^^; Still a nice song, though!

  • See my earlier comment. This band had the name Celtic Thunder years ago. They played in local venues in New York and Baltimore. They unfortunately never copyrighted the name allowing the PBS phenoms to appropriate it.

  • @NYCIrsh

PBS is shit and regurgitates the shit BBC spews. These guys could have made some decent money on the side playing bars, pubs, and festivals.

  • The music was so, so. This group must have been the celtic thunder of the 1980's. It diffenatly is not the the current Celtic Thunder. If it is the 80's celtic thunder, say so.

  • Wow, really, south? You're a complete ass for posting that on a vid celebrating someones heritage. We all have stuff in our ancestry we aren't proud of, Native Americans as much if not more. So...shut up and go watch NA vids.

  • Just wanted to say you did a wonderful job on your family video.

  • I just discovered that this is an American group that recorded in the 1990's long before the group we know was formed.

No one is trying to misrepresent anything. It is very confusing on Amazon and ITunes since they are listed on the same pages and fans of both groups are upset.

  • It is amazing how some of you can turn this memory video into something that has nothing to do with what is TRYING to just present a beautiful song and family pictures and not stupid racism.

  • This is NOT the hot Irish/Scot group that I love. But these guys are cool!

  • LOL, yes, I see cousins in every frame too..and yes, the big splashy band you see now, ARE not these folks.

  • This must be a pretty early recording of Celtic Thunder because the boy singing sounds younger than I've ever heard him.

  • Whoever said us Irish look alike may have been onto something-these snaps could be my family-great video, thanks!

    Jim B

    Manchester, NH

    (born in Woodside, Queens!)

  • I don't know , maybe it's the clothing fashion of the time or the hair styles, but some of those girls remind me so much of my sisters when they were that age.

  • proud to be an ancestor of the burns family

    "Éire go Brách"

  • Happy St. Padraig's Day! Y'all, from the hills of South Carolina. Eirinn Go Brach Deo Vindice

  • Well the song is called "Streets Of New York" by the Wolfe Tones brilliant song

  • Listen to the same song by "The Wolfe Tones" brilliant i promise you

  • It is a band called Celtic Thunder that played in NYC and Baltimore about 10 years or so ago. I don't think they ever copyrighted the name and a commercial group appropriated it. See the original band's music on I Tunes.

  • thats not celtic thunder. its probably celtic women

  • this song shows how great new york used to be and how good it was when the irish were there i wish i lived in that time

every good irishmen should watch the video nyc hates the irish

  • too many blacks in nyc these days

  • dude,that's racist

  • to many fuckin' hispanics from all the south america, and those cursed muslims, oh and I forgot the chinaese

MULTICULTURALISM WILL PUT AN END TO THIS COUNTRY, I hope then liberals will be happy.

    Great song, by the way.

  • When I said multiculturalism will put an end to this country, I was talking about 3rd world immigrants who came here for "The american dream", tnx to them soon won't be an american dream, most "hoods" are full of gangs formed by hispanics, muslims, blacks and others, there is not safe to live in most of the cities, crime rate is sky high, america is world 1st drug consumer, and we have corrupt institutions, so "Thank u" Illegal immigrants

  • shihanKatana: You're unbelievably ignorant. All that shit you're talking is exactly the same crap hurled at Irish and Italian immigrants 100 years ago!!!

  • Hmm, may be, BUT, wore the Irish the one who committed the 9/11 attacks?Wore the italians the ones who declare Jihad?Wore the Irish the ones who become drug dealers?Wore the italians the ones building mosques all over?Wore the irish the ones who become gang bangers?Did an american fire fighter lost he's job because he didn't speak italian? NO! and the list could go on forever, the fact is that they just wanted to begin a new peaceful life, not to take over, not to plan terrorist attacks.

  • you shouldnt steryotype an entire race

  • @shihanKatana Um, it was the Italians who ran organized crime in New York, dealing in dope and extorting small businesses whilst murdering anyone who got i their way. Not to forget the Irish Westies gang . . . So yeah I fail to see how that's some how less bad than black or hispanic crime. Just saying.

  • AND they came from Europe, and Europe was not a part of the 3rd world, European people are by far way better then the illegal immigrants we have to deal with now.

  • Limewire has this song listed as Celtic thunder so there is more than likely two groups called celtic thunder. This is my family's history also I am irish and scottish.

  • There are two groups--this folky group from the 80s, and the Broadway-style show that's been on PBS (both of them good).

  • My great-great grandparents were from Ireland so this vid. is prety personal*tear* I am irish and I do irish dancing and it makes me think of all the privilages I have because they came to the US

    P.S.people; there are 2 CT groups. 1 is from Ireland:Damian, Keith,ect. 1 is older.

  • I'm also Irish and I agree with you on the priviliges

  • pretty song! I'm glad its included in AudioSwap

  • ps.... this is MY FAMILY HISTORY!

  • thisi s a nice story sir maam its nice to hear from our relatives on the the other side of the atlantic. its amazing what the irish achieved in america and elsewhere.

  • this song has been around for 20 years.i think they are from the Bronx, played their own instruments, and is not that 'celticthunder' crap(male 'celtic woman') that is all over the tv now

  • lol.. .look, I all I know is that this band was called Celtic Thunder and was from New York and was not very popular or famous, and I don't know if they are still around. I don't know of any other band by that name. Just a band I saw play one time and picked up a CD from them personally.

  • @poconolots Celtic thunder(male 'celtic women') kicks this bands Eh es es

  • @poconolots .......... oh my gosh I can't believe you don't like "Celtic Thunder" or "Celtic Women"???? I've been to thier concert and I feel they are absolutely amaizing!

  • This Celtic Thunder is an American band, which has since gone Hollywood, more is the shame...there is another CT, more political...hence the confusion.

  • Yeah, this isn't Celtic Thunder. Probably Celtic Women. Still good though.

  • RedCeltic, We must be thinking of different Celtic Thunders then. :) My Celtic Thunder wasn't around in 1987.

  • Why do I not see my reply on here? That's odd. Anyway... we must be thinking of a different group. As I said it was from The Light Of Other Days album from 1987. I wouldn't doubt there being another band named Celtic Thunder.. seems like a good name for a band. : )

  • Very nice but It doesn't sound like Celtic Thunder.

  • Meiriceá agus Éireann Neart le Chéile.Go mbeannaí Dia iad araon.

  • I love it!!!

  • once again, a very nice tribute!

  • Loved it!

  • very beautiful

  • My Family and myself are still in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Myself, my dad, and grandfather all worked for the Transit Authority, and my Uncle was a cop. Too true, this song. Great video.

  • Cool. My family moved out to Long Island, but I still have family in Brooklyn and Queens.

  • LOVELY!!!!!!

  • Great video. It reminds me of the photos of my mother's upbringing in an Irish area of South Side of Chicago!

  • Thanks, Mainly those photos are from Brooklyn and Queens. (Mostly Queens I think.) Later photos show my mom in pigtails when they moved out to Long Island.
