On a lot of kyle's video's I see a lot of cars that have a feature that allows it's user/owner to remote-start the engine.

Why would anyone want/need this? I can't come up with any reason apart from it being a gimmick.

Also, NO cars in the Netherlands, no matter how cheap or expensive have systems like these to my knowledge. I even suspect they're illegal.

They aren't in the USA, but in the meantime I found out that systems that start the engine are illegal in the Netherlands. Remotestart = illegal.

Standheaters (as the literal translation from the Dutch word would be) are powered by battery here which in turn is fed by the dynamo when the engine IS running, or solarpanels that are built into most sunroofs.

I never knew this, but was told so by a local BMW dealer. Showed me the panels in the 7-series sunroofs even.

F*ckin' yum! Love these things. Oh and the black bar over the back seats was a coat hanger thing. And the way that you keep it running after starting it with the remote is by putting the key in, turning it to the "On" position and tapping the brake. Its really quite simple.

You start your engine from the remote, you get in your car, you press the brake to put it in Drive, and the engine shuts down immediately, because you have just pressed the brake ?

My dad has a 2003 Sport Trac currently with 186k miles. It's been a reliable truck with only a few recent problems such as the alternator, etc. His previous truck was a 1998 Chevy 1500 & it had many problems when he sold it and it only had 120k miles. It's too bad the Sport Tracs are discontinued now. The second generation ones didn't sell as well as the first gen. They were heavier & thirstier than the first gen.

The handles are really annoying to use. @saabkyle04 What if you didn't want to turn the engine off after using the remote start on this thing? How could you shift it out of park without it shutting down?

yeah, for the fuel economy you're getting in the v8, its not worth it; you can get an f150 (which is a LOT bigger and can two/haul more. the the v6 is a great vehicle because it combines both from the f150 and the ranger into one vehicle.

@StuartMay1987 Thats not petrol. It's water, the cars are usually washed right before these videos. The "smoke" is actually steam from the water evaporating. No wasting of fuel here haha.
