Hi James, thank you for the lesson and clear explanation. One question - in the video you state the verse progression as G D4 F G C F C.
but in the written notes for this video you dont have the G listed in the progression, it appears to be missing? Just wondering if that second G should be in or not. Thank you again for the help.
Thanks for this great video. It shows me that I am still very much a beginner, and have a way t o go. But I love all of the useful information, how you do each note (where I can pause it and see if Mine sounds the same) etc. Its really a good educational vid, I just have a ways to go to do it so fluidly. Oh well. Im 34, And am only about a year in. Maybe by the time im 40, Ill be able to play without looking like you do. Thanks again!!
I also love to play simple songs, it is really hard to write a good sounding song which is simple to play and works on just an acoustic guitar. I always love it when I discover them. Also when the song is simple to play they always lend themselves to a bit of improve with the chords and you can always mess around with hammer ons, pull offs, muted strums etc!!! Plus this song is just fun to play, when we do it live I like to see how fast I can play it!!!!
You can do a modified F (X33211) where you just use the first finger to bar the bottom 2 strings only and the other fingers are the same and don't play the top string. I usually teach this one to younger kids or real beginners who usually don't have the finger strength yet.
You should also check out our cover of the song and let us know what you think. It is pretty easy, the only difficult thing is the quick chord changes.
Thanks glad you liked it and thanks for the comment. Make sure you check out our cover of the song also by clicking on the Video Response. I have also just posted the second lesson on the song using open chords for a second guitar or if you prefer the sound of those chords you can use it for a single guitar.
Woops there is no second lesson on this one (I was thinking about Throw Your Arms Around Me that I just posted), ignore that last sentence unless you want to learn how to play that as well.
Thankyou very much, make sure you check ot our cover of this song by clicking the video response. Yes that was my cat, damn thing always seems to think that it is attention starved even though it gets heaps of attention.
also singe kannsch ned, kumpel ;)

did you make a mistake on the g chord in the beginning? because it says that you have to press on the 2nd fret of the B string
rubikcubebeater 1 year ago
No, it's a variation on G that I personally prefer, you can use normal G if you prefer it, either one works
