Do you think Fulci was inspired by The Shining when he did this movie? it's sort of like Beetlejuice meets Pet Sematary and House (1986). Maybe this movie did inspired those films of the similar premise.
@Johnlindsey289 Well, this is essentially a haunted house movie, so i'm sure that Fulci was influenced by a meriad of spooky films when he made this one. The Beyond was almost certainly influenced by The Shining though.
@TheAltair4 The Beyond also had elements from The Sentinel ( seen that ? ) and Amityville Horror too, .. . which, as a matter of fact, The Shining also had elements in common with .
@Skulldini Ah, yes! The Sentinel is one of my faves, as is Amityville Horror, which i'm sure Kubrick borrowed from when he made his version of The Shining.
@TheAltair4 Well, I always thought it was because the plot of Amityville Horror was also taken a little bit from the Shining novel. Imean, I know there was that real life case that it was suposedly based on. But when they made it into a flick they probably used story elements from that same book to fashion the premise. Thats what I always asumed .
@Skulldini It's possible, i suppose. I know that in the novel of The Shining Jack goes after his family with a roque mallet and in the Kubrick film he uses an axe, very similar to what James Brolin did at the end of Amityville Horror.
Is that the voice of one of the neighbors from "The Burbs"? Ha.

Classic horror movie, one of the best supernatural zombie/ghost movies. A nice cross between Pet Sematary, Re-Animator, Poltergeist and House (1986).
