@Spenckem If you look in the video description, you'll find the dot count formulae there for different sizes. You can use even less than 612 dots for a similar shape.
@szakiii Im only 13, but I LOVE creating cool structures, and I was wondering... Is it worth the money? ( like for me ) Because I only get £15 a month... I want some but I dont know if its worth the £30 or so, shall i buy them?
@killer6468 Well I won't tell you how to spend your pocket money but if you really like math, geometry, creating something and letting your imagination loose, these magnets can occupy you for many-many hours :)
@killer6468 Ehm.... you can get them for A LOT CHEAPER on ebay, I bought 3 for like 10 pounds each. just go to ebay type Neocube, and buy from Hugo...(...=some numbers lol, dont know full name)
@szakiii Dude man. 1 : Awesome figures . 2 : You always put some awesome muic in your videos. I like it. :D
3. Are you sure that NanoDots are better than NeoCube or Buckyballs? cuz they are more expansive, and The NeoCube has a sweet offer (1027 for ~85$) so i'm wondering. :)
About the prices, Nanodots might cost more but you get a more durable and robust product for it. If you plan to play with them a lot, Nanodots definitely worth the money.
@RandomAldoPipson First, it was not that much. Second, you don't get the whole point. I didn't buy these stuff to see how many people will watch this movie. Furthermore, when I've heard about these magnetic balls, I didn't even know I'm ever gonna make any videos. I just bought a few more sets, and a few more, and a few more to satisfy my fantasy. Then, after like a year since I'd bought the first one, I had the idea to make a video. That's the story.
show ur freinds that this is a huge ball and inside it is alot of matter !! (magnets) so try to hold it and it feels heavy !!!!!! and they will hold it and say wtf ? (coz it looks huge and full of magntes wich it isnt
Very nice I've watched a few of your vids now and really enjoy the shapes you create with this simple balls. And everytime you crush the shape at the end Argh! Lol =) Anyway I'm going to get a few of these too so i can have a go at making some shapes, there's hours of fun in there! =) Many thanks. Also I been looking for this song for a long time too! I knew the sound but forgot the name of the song. Thanks for this =)
I just ordered neocubes and I was wondering what the difference was between neocubes and nanodots. As in size (which is smaller, larger) and magnetic strength and ability for making models.
@szakiii if the basic structure of a magnetic ball is a + side and a - side, then it wouldnt much matter, right? i mean, i am asking a question here. i really dont know. could it be size? BB are 4.8 i think and nano dots are 5 right?
Yeah I can create for example half-regular solids as well. However, when using more than one type of basic polygon, due to the fixed ball size they don't look such 'regular'. Some of the polygons stand a bit more far from the center than the others.
On the other hand, if I use one ball as one vertex of the solid, it solves this problem, but the solids will have a fixed small size.
At the time of my purchase, the omega set did not even exists. But if you want to buy a lot, it's definitely cheaper to buy an omega instead of 4-5 alphas.
I successfully recreated this one with only 180 spheres. It didn't look as intricate, but it definitely worked out well. I will post a video response later...
I'm so fascinated by what you make! I only have 1 neocube but I will order a new one very soon... I hope that you will come with new shapes soon. And 1 more thing...: SUBSCRIBED!!
For everyone wanting to buy them; they can be bought a lot cheaper on ebay than on theneocube. On ebay, you can often buy the same 6mm cubes in sets of 20 for $1.99. That means that for the same $30, you can buy 300 magnets instead of 216, or you can buy 216 magnets for $21 with 4 magnets extra.
Of course, there is shipping to account for; it comes from hong kong, so probably has higher shipping rates than from theneocube; so you have to see for yourself if its worth it.
Perhaps, but if those are 6mm balls they are not the same as the Neocube balls which are approx. 4.7mm in diameter. They are some other kind of balls. Maybe the strength of them also differ.
I wouldn't recommend buying such if you already have Neocube balls. Mixing different types is not a good idea.
i have not bought any yet... my only concern is quality. is it possible to have low quality 6mm neodymium magnets? they ship from hong kong, which is why i'm worried.
Well, I can't tell you anything about those 6mm magnet balls, I only have experience with Neocube. But we in Hungary say cheap meat produces thin broth :)
yes, there is a similar expression in russian. however, i was just wondering if such magnets are standard everywhere, or if they could be weaker than others, for example.
Of course they can. It depends on the manufacturer.
However, if you build from one set, it doesn't matter that much. But if you want to build something bigger from like 1000+ balls, it can easily happen that they just can't hold together because of their weight.
Arrrrggh... I hate living in a third world country!!! They cost thrice the price to me... =_= Buying just ONE is really expensive to me =_=... I really envy you T_T

For the record, you can make a smaller version using 612 balls, just in case someone feels like buying 3 sets instead of 6.
