  • Excellent !

  • An effortless manner of appreciating an exceptionally meaningful season in French Art.

  • I dream of an art of balance, purity, tranquility, devoid of disturbing or disquieting subject matter....something akin to a good armchair

    Henri Matisse

  • Interesting format and great tribute to Henry Matisse...thank you for this. I admire his work and him so very much!

  • marcdaddy33 The difference would be that a child could not conciously decide on colors, content, form and theme......no not a child's work, but a discovery of a man who dedicated his entire life to ART.......not just fun and play......but under-standing and tapping into his most inner expression of his knowledge of art...........too bad you cannot enjoy the pure genius of his works.

  • Pure beauty at 2:42

  • La mejor antología de la obra del gran Matisse. ¡Cómo disfruté tu video! Me suscribí a tu canal, seguro has de tener bellezas. Te felicito.

  • Le goût est sensoriel .....

  • @chocolatgingembre except for the abstract human figures...

  • a lot of his work looks like stuff a child would produce.

  • @marcdaddy33 except for the human figures

  • ja ate hoje eu numca vi nimguem iguala van gogh. gosto muito do trabalhos dele ja pensou si o mesmo estive-se com vida seria os dos maoires pintores..

  • I can a better job shitting on pages

  • C'est une splendide évocation de l'oeuvre picturale magnifiquement portée par la musique... L'enchaînement des scènes est merveilleux.

  • I dont like anyone except Dali and Warhol.Warhol is simply genius.Dali technically is high end.But picaso.Fuck it ,its bullshit.

  • @magiksity Thanks for info ;-), the great thing is, that it does not make any difference..:-)

  • @magiksity Picasso could paint like rembrandt when he was 16. you should do some research before bashing one of art history's most prolific figures. Picasso's academic paintings when he was a young man are astonishing. He was classically trained in painting and a masterful draftsman although saw the potential of painting to be much more than realistic renderings of his surroundings. His refusal of simple academic nudes spawned some arts most riveting and beautiful paintings to date.

  • Sublime! Matisse had his own vision and style. His own intimacy with colour and texture, and his works are alluring and attractive and decorative and have a sort of childlike innocence that makes them even more interesting. The video is awesome, the transitions are pretty cool and the sequence of the paintings to the rhythm of the music to the end seem to tell a romantic story. A romance of colorful suggestions that just makes you smile :)

  • Matisse siempre vivirá en nuestro corazón.

  • his work is more moderne than the some artist of today, lots of boring works start from 2000

  • just a question:could it be possible that i have a matisse painting?:D

i mean my parents got it as a present from pretty rich people^^ some years ago.

the painting looks like that blue human on 0:24 but not exactly the same and the painting is signed with 52 h.matisse

is this just a stupid copy?

  • @brockenhodenjohnny possibly! It's worth checking out, as stranger things have happened. And wouldn't that be cool?? ;>)

  • This was perhaps my favorite of all your beautiful works...

Many thanks and blessings for keeping these masterpieces in front of people's eyes!

  • "I do not literally paint that table, but the emotion it produces upon me."

    -Henri Matisse

  • @JackRR952 Which is basically Matisse's way of saying, "I don't know how to paint Realism, but I'll do whatever I can, and call it something which sounds better than what I am actually capable of."

  • @cosg9531 that my friend is an ignorant remark. Matisse was more than capable of painting realistically although what the fauvist movement was about (the art movement matisse is cited as starting) was use of color, creating an immediate impact on the viewer, the use of strong gesture in the mark making and expressiveness.

  • Congretulation! Great video and beautiful music. I love Mattise's paitings more.

  • Great video, beautiful music! Thank you.

  • Great job!

  • Считаю,что больше половины представленных работ не являютца кисти Матисса

  • LOVED this....and the transitions are interesting too....can you tell me what program you used to create this....and if you chose a specific transition set or if this is the result of 'random'....thanks

  • His paintings are so peaceful. I love his work so much. Such an inspiration.

  • This moves far too fast. Wonderful collection. Transitions were very distracting as well. Need at least 10-12 seconds per piece.

  • Brilliant, your love this painters work, Thanks again, Stephen Ward

  • I love the video and the music very much. Thank you

  • too fast

  • Do you know the name of the painting at 2:43? This is a wonderful video -- thanks very much for taking the trouble to post it.

  • A great expressionist artist was Antonio Fuentes ( Tangiers, 1905 - 1995 ), member of L'Ecole de Paris, who depicts in his works the city of Tangiers.

    Antonio Fuentes ( Tangiers, 1905 - 1995 )

  • Thankyou, I love all of them, especially the live artist, Phil Cusick!

  • yet another excellent video!

  • Does anyone else know the music as the theme from "Jack Horkheimer's Star Hustler" on PBS? "Some people hustle cars. Jack hustles stars!" Wow.

  • He's been wrongly vilified, in my opinion. He wasn't a piece of cheap trash.

  • Please watch my Fauvism Video. Thanks

    (its in the video response)

  • Buena compilación, buena música.... pero ese efecto que de pronto altera los colores me pareció una falta de respeto.

Sin embargo voto un pulgar positivo.

  • molto bello, mi ha fatto riflettere..molte grazie.

  • Magnifique!

  • This video has been very well prepared. I think Matisse would have been delighted. Keep up the good work.

  • You've chosen the right animations and music on all your videos, I've saved to favorites all of them! Nice.

  • I like your videos eggman, but i think you should put more emphasis on the artists work and less on your video effect skills. A simple slideshow helps to concentrate more on the work itself. Just a thought...thanks for putting this together...

  • reminds me of an lsd experience i had in the 70s

  • Beautiful.

  • Heel mooi

  • Song of Solomon 6:5 Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me:

  • Does anyone know the painting at 1:55? I m having trouble finding it. Thnx

  • @maryMIS

It's an oil painting he did of his secretary Lydia Delectorskaya in 1947.

  • Thanx :)

  • Thank you! :)

  • very nice relaxing

  • splendido,grazie

  • STUNNING OF ART!

    THANKS

  • past art and modern art is all unique. matisse had showed that it wasn't all about precison. To him it was about color and how ur mood interpreted what u saw an u show it in color. It was all simple to him. Now it's all about seeing EXACTLY what u saw instead of being ok with letting ur painting not be exact. I talk alot.

  • I am fascinated by your work and music that u picked. It is one of my favourite works by Debussy. Really profesional work, I enjoyed so much......thank you...;o)))))

  • vaporizer is a loser!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

  • un bellissimo lavoro!! i miei complimenti

  • che meraviglia!!!*****molto bravo anche nelle scelte musicali!

  • Beautiful, thanks!

  • Sad that cubism, pop art, dadaism type crap-art existed and speculators and fraudsters made tons of money out of it.Basically they killed the talent and accumulation of knowledge of centuries. Classic painting was seen as a taboo especially in the 20th century and the fraud still goes on as we speak by (con)artists like Tracey Emin who has sold her dirty urine soaked bed as (con)artpiece for 100s of thousands of dollars.

  • Not all modern art is crap. Some is... but if you want "classic" art that never changes... just buy a camera and everything will look the way you want.

  • Yes ALL modern art is crap! That's the problem with people like you.Brainwashed to a degree that the belief of modern art became a religion. You believe a camera can take a shot and replace a realist or classic painting. Just go and see some Velasques,Caravagio,Rembrant,Vermeer and than try to replace them with some photo shots. You are not an artist that's for sure!

  • Your opinion has been noted.... and quickly disregarded.

  • exactly! 20th century turned art into shit.

  • nobody said a photo can replace vermeer or rembrandt.i think you are the only one that says that.

  • not really. an original oil painting masterpiece will always look a whole lot better than any photograph. this modern abstract shit everyone calls art is not art.

  • @closetbeaner mug.

  • why do you call modern abstract art shit? just look at Newman, Rothko and Pollock and their art work, thats not shit!

  • I wouldn't say they "killed" the talent. There IS still great art out there, its just not popular.

  • Ola,

  • Nice video!

  • Sehr schön gemacht! Danke!

  • The joys of looking at his paintings are re-awaking in me, younger times when line and colors had an impact of unwrapping a gift.

  • Wonderful!

  • I've haven't known Matisse yet, just some of his works.

But I think I will like his paintings.

  • Awesome video! 5/5 and fav!

  • @1:11 what is the name of the painting?

  • Belissimo!

  • Henri Matisse was the greatest painter EVER!

  • why ?

  • hard to do in 500 words or less, but I'll try. Using what colors he saw in nature and the way Cézanne, constructed his paintings and others Matisse developed an art based on and hinged together on the use of color not draftsmanship. living in Oregon. I had only encountered Matisse in books, via reproductions. traveled to New York in 92 to see his retrospective and was blown away by how much is missing when you see a Matisse in a book, versus seeing him in person. The colors simmer!

  • Most excellent video. Thank you!--TAA
