Really? Compairng 1989 batman to The Dark Knight and saying that 1989 Batman is better? WHAT?

a) Bale is far superior to Keaton, despite the raspy voice. Keaton just seems to flat and uninteresting for me. No, not deep, just BORING.

b) Heath Ledger >>>>>> Jack Nicholson

c) The plot is so much more adult and developed in Dark Knight

d) The Dark Knight's special effects far surpass Batman

e) Pretty much every cast member in Dark Knight surpass Batman's.

@juanitoperez34 I honestly have to disagree. I believe that the 1989 version is better in certain aspects while TDK is better in others. I don't think there will ever be a "better" movie because TDK set the bar for modern comic films while 1989 set the bar for superhero films in general. Both are wonderful. TDK has better effects, 1989 was better at sticking to the comic storyline (minus the Waynes' deaths). With all due respect I think its ignorant of you to just shoot down on film like that.

i prefer batman to dark knight too (although i do like them both) i didn't think heath ledger was that different to jack nicholson - he just had more serious dialogue and a better outfit.

plus the batmobile was way better in the 89 one, the film just has that little extra bit of class that nudges it in front.

I really don't understand why everyone is so bent on kissing Keaton's ass in the first two films ... I think he was a horrible Batman, not compelling at all and had a constant look of utter confusion in every single scene he was in. One of the things I dislike the most about the original is when Batman is asked why he's doing what he's doing and he replies that even he doesn't know sometimes, he just has to do it. This is completely contrary to the character of Batman ... *cont'd*

hahah this video was really funny, i mean besides he is completely right. Other than the action scenes for logic reasons, the original Batman is superior in all aspects to the Dark Knight that is OVERRATED just like batman Begins is.

not really i would say that the realism in the dark knight takes it. for me i was a huge fan of the original batman movie made by tim burton, but i think that his movies lacked a more sinister presence. sure when i see nicholson as the joker i think, alright pretty scary. but i also thought at times he was a birthday clown. however in TDK the joker was scary but when he made jokes it maintained his dark sense of humor. the writing was superior, it gave the characters depth.

in burton's film i actually didn't like the fact that keaton never showed emotion, and personally i like the fact that everything is spoken about in the dark knight. to me this is what makes it stand out. but i think that you really can't compare the 2 because they are so different in many ways.

Because he (NCFan) is a complete dick head who despite warnings from the site and staff of the site still uploads videos. After the site launched a complaint to have his channels suspended he opens another one. He's a thief and a dick head and these are trailers, hence the edited versions. The clue is in the title where it says trailer.

Its not imitation. Imitation would be him making videos himself, acting like the critic. What he's doing is plain, simple theft. He's taking videos that people have put effort into, posting them on a channel, which is taking profit away from the guy who put the whole thing together. Simple theft and if you were in Dougs position you wouldnt be sitting there thinking "Oh, Im flattered" youd be going "That guy is costing me money."

I never really believed the 80's bruce wayne could take people out physically, but 2008's Bruce wayne was pumped up and had ninja training so it was more probable he could beat the crap out of people.

I have to say that the older Batman film is a bit too slow and maybe a little too sublte. Where as Dark Knight is way smoother and has more energy and pace too its story. Granted this is a 20 year gap were talking about, but you get it. However, the final fight between Joker and Batman in the original is classic and memorable. One of my all time favorite moments, it brought the movie full circle.

In my opinion The Dark Knight(Nolan's series in general) beats Batman89 in every single way. In plot, themes, acting, depth. It wasn't just a great comic book movie. It was a great movie. Period. Dark Knight was one of the best films of 08 and is a modern classic.

also, keaton just always looked silly to me wearing the batsuit. he couldnt move his neck in the suit, so i always laugh when i see him "intimidating" someone, just cu he has the mobility of a disabled theme park mickey... lol
